okay i'm a BIG fan of this series. i first watched the tiawanese version and was like wow this is good. then i watched the japanese version and was ADDICTED i thought i couldn't get enough of this series. then i watched the korean version and is still going crazy over the story line but still......
and CHINESE MAINLAND VERSON and PHILLIPINO VERSION?????
taz just WAY too much......i know hana yori dango has a great story line but please don't we have any other stories to work with???? now i don't mind the chinese version tat much since i rarely see any school romance drama made in china so i'm actually kinda excited to see it. but then i heard there's gonna b a phillipino version and totally freaked out. no offense but personally i don't really like phillipino dramas and i REALLY think itz about time we give this story line a break.........
right now i wouldn't b supprised if the US was making a hana yori dango of their own

uhmm about the Filipino version....

it's not even sure...

it's all rumors...

if that happens...then the Earth will end! hahahaha

and the Mainland version...I saw some of the probable persons who would play the roles...

the girl who is gonna play Makino (most probably)...does not even look like a girl!

I think she has that high possibility to grab it because somehow I heard she was very popular...

saw it in one of the forums here in CR and in youtube....

I think the HYD phenomenon should just be wrapped up by the Koreans!

unless someone is gonna exceed the entire production...hehehe

and can keep the viewers' interest..if not...why bother?!

and beside, you're forgetting something.. these dramas?? they're only popular in the net world (ok, maybe a small part in the net world).. but do you really think they're popular in the real world?

Actually, they are popular in the real world.

Maybe not as much in Europe or North America (although North America is home to many Asian-Americans, like myself, who hear about it through family or their home country channels, and there are quite a few Asians in Europe as well... like myself XD), but do not discount the fact that Asia is the largest and most populous continent in the world. Following that, Asian dramas often get shown in different countries (example: the Philippines airs Taiwanese, Japanese and Korean dramas - have they included Mainland Chinese yet? lol - and if you remember, "Meteor Garden" was a ridiculous success over there) so these dramas get a huge audience in the "real world."

:)

it depends actually....MG is a phenomenal hit in Asia.....Both were shown in my country....n Hyd wasn't that popular compared to MG...but I think HYD is more pop. n widely loved in the net.
I don't know with the other countries who had aired hyd--ive researched , but i think Hyd wasnt that famous...
(only onliners)....

Um, "your country" is my country too LOL (I'm Filipino, grew up in America and lived in Europe for a while... I should've mentioned what kind of Asian I am XD. (Also, it amuses me when Filipino people say "my country" like other Asians wouldn't know what the Philippines was because I grew up in a community where everyone was from there.)

MG was definitely a crazy hit all over Asia, and HYD may be a more Japanese or East Asian hit than a Southeast Asian (or All-Asian) hit, but I'm just talking sheer numbers of people watching dramas - any dramas. My point was that dramas aren't just some things that a select bunch of Internet denizens watch and discuss, like a webshow or something, but they are made for and watched by "real people." Like how "real world" Japanese people (and Koreans, Taiwanese, etc.) watch dramas, and not just "net people" from Japan, Korea, Taiwan etc. They're just normal TV in their countries, and so there isn't any mystery to watching them), and sometimes they trade shows between each other and/or export them to other countries (Malaysia, Singapore...). But there are a lot of people watching dramas in general.

I don't think anything has matched MG yet in the PI (which is why I didn't mention HYD in particular in comparison to MG) but I remember Korean dramas are gaining quite a bit of popularity there (and my parents complain about how the Philippines import too many dramas haha). Not sure which ones are popular now though.

I'm just worried the storyline will be used too much. I love Hana Yori Dango. I've watched the Taiwanese, the Japanese (1, 2, and the movie), and I've read the manga, and now I'm watching the Korean one. (I'd watch the anime, but I'm not into anime all that much.) I'd watch the Mainland Chinese one and maybe (I probably will) the Filipino one, but I'm worried that after Chinese one, people will start to get annoyed--not because the Philippines are remaking it (but they probably will because they're haters. IT'S A REMAKE FOR A REASON!)--but because they've seen Makino pelted with eggs and flour and garbage too many times. I'm already kinda getting tired of Sakurako's evilness of framing Makino. But whatever. I still love Hana Yori Dango, no matter how many remakes there will be.

As long as the versions are different enough to stand alone and are good to watch, you can make as many as you like

I am sorta watching the korean version and I think it has its faults especially with a budget as big as it has but it is cute and people are watching it so its fine
As for the mainland and Filipino version, if they r good ppl will watch them
I am looking forward to hearing the cast being announced for the mainland version

For me, it's fine that are remaking them. It's a wonderful story. I personally love HYD japanese version the most and I love the anime and manga. But I have watched the tawainese version and I'm curious about the Korean one as well, but I will always like the japanese one the most.

What makes me the most curious is about, since it has taken off in Asia so much, if the American entertainment industry will make a remake for American viewers? I think that would bring alot of new viewers and get interest in the series all over again. But, again, they might not have the talent to make the story great. (ever seen those teen angsty dramas they have on now? Yeah. )

Just as long as they don't make another HYD movie...I won't go nuts. One movie is enough.

the korean version actually disappointed me a bit. I agree that the characters all look great but Jan Di's acting is way too exaggerated

I still like the Japanese ver best

HAHA...I DONT CARE IF THERE WOULD BE 12 OR 20 DIFFRENT VERSIONS OF THE ORIGINAL HANA YORI DANGO...

IM OKAY WITH DIFFRENT COUNTRIES REMAKING THIS SERIES...THE STORY IS REALLY INSPIRING ESPECIALLY TO YOUNG COUPLES...
BESIDES IF WE LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, WE CAN LEARN ALOT FROM WATCHING DIFFRENT VERSIONS OF HYD, LIKE OTHER COUNTRY'S CULTURE, WAY OF LIFE AND UNDERSTANDING THEM FURTHR RIGHT?...FOR EXAMPLE IF THERE WOULD BE AN INDIAN VERSION...WE COULD SEE A DIFFRENT SETTING, MAYBE F4 WITH TURBANS? OR WHATEVER? HAHA JOKE

I KNOW NOTHING BEATS THE ORIGINAL...
