Okay, ever since the "official subs" took over, the some of the references went away. You know, the words at the top that tell you about the jokes or parodies they make. If you don't get some of the jokes, you could ask questions here. I'm sure someone will answer them sooner of later.

Edit: There are still some references in the episodes. You can terminate this forum if you want.

In ep 115, when they were stranded on an island. Gin-san was in the woods and he was like Ka-me-ha-me-haaa.
What in the world was he doing?

Lol. Thanks very much
I'd wondered of it was a technique from an anime somewhere. Sadly, I never watched much Dragon Ball so didn't know it was a reference to that. Thanks very much. Now I know.

heh, and as for Kagura I don't think you're suppose to understand what she saw. Its mind-boggling how anyone can see anything from those puffy shapes. So I guess the punchline is exactly what Gin-san said to Katsura when Katsura thought he saw Christel Takigawa in the clouds: "What the hell are you doing!? Nobody understands you!"

That would be my guess. But, I'm not too sure myself.

Earlier on in the gintama series, yamazaki is constantly being seen playing( or practicing it, idk) badminton alone, i wanna know whats the joke. When i read the manga, the mangaka wrote that if he told the punchline of the joke it wouldnt be funny anymore, but i still wanna know.

maybe he doesn't want to get cut by the katana?...

...or because he didn't approve the casting for Prince of Tenis?...

...or just because he likes playing badmington...

I think she said she saw Laputa... supposedly a magical flying island hidden in the clouds and surrounded by storms to protect intruders. Its from the movie Laputa:Castle in the Sky. its from the Genre of anime movies like Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, (and also this came up in ealier episodes) My Neighbour Totoro etc etc.

I do think its a parody of Prince of Tennis, remember in one episode where he was wearing Ryoma Echizen's uniform while he was spying. so instead of a tennis racket he kept swinging that badminton. I dont remember exactly where but I think he even said : "mada mada dane" Echizen's infamous phrase
