Of course, now D&D is in the fourth edition. I'd actually like to hear people's opinions on the playing style of the new game, which seems to have more of the anime/MMORPG feel than standard D20.

Guardians of Order went out of business about a year and a half ago. It is my understanding that you can still buy PDFs of BESM d20 at DriveThruRPG, currently the leading online RPG store for e-books. I don't know how much longer it will be up. (Anime fans interested in d20 might find some things of interest in the d20 adaptation of Slayers). I don't know if the System Resource Documents are still available anywhere.

The Open Gaming License was like letting a genie out of the bottle -- it's really hard to get it to go back in.

A lot of people have referred to 4E as being the same thing as WoW... but such comparisons are usually derogitory and highly exagerated, in my experience. It takes the systems from older versions and sort of streamlines them into a standardised form. Other than that, it's still good old D&D. From my perspective, it doesn't have any abundance of anime or mmorpg influences.
