Am I the only one that though that when L was washing Light's feet it was referring to the bible?

I saw it as L was showing humility in turn showing his reverence for Light. It was incredibly sad, not a fangirl moment at all.

Another point that was sad for me in the series was when Light's father was dying and he saw Light's lifespan with the Shinigami eyes although that moment was ruined when Light fanatically begged him to kill Mello with the notebook.

L's death was a suprise, Light's death was salvation. I thought it was fitting that Light was killed by Ryuk whom told him how it was going to unfold in advance.

I was sad when L died but even more depressing when Light died but if Light was still alive, the world would be "weird".

I think the saddest part of the anime was during the episode, when Light was running away from the warehouse and away from Near and the others. To be specific, the part where he remembers himself before he had his hands on the Death Note - how uncomplicated his life had been and how so simple he was, as a student and a brother and a son. That part really moved me, because it emphasizes Ryuk's words that the Death Note ruins the life of whoever possesses the Death Note it.

Agreed.
It was touching when Light walked past his former self and started remembering peaceful moments of his life. Watching him die such a sad, pathetic death (don't hurt me) just... hit me like a wrecking ball. Maybe pathetic isn't the right word. Light just looked so weak and helpless lying on the ground, taking his last breaths. It was clear at that moment that Light truly lost, and it's sad because he was so... consumed by power, if that makes any sense at all. And Ryuk's final dialogue was moving, too. For some reason or another. One last thing about Light's death... if Misa did kill herself, (nobody's sure if she did or not, am I right?) she really shouldn't have. What a waste of all the years that Rem and Gelus (is that how it's spelled? Gah) added to her lifespan.
Another moving moment for me was when L and Light came inside after the rainstorm and dried themselves off. No, I don't think it was a yaoi moment. I think it might have been an intentional symbolic moment. Symbolism or not, it still touched me when L said, "I have to atone for my sins" and "You and I will be parting ways soon." It's as if he knew his death wasn't too far off, Light was Kira, and he had finally surrendered to this Kira.

The saddest moments for me are when L died (I have just waited a week to watch it further!) and the end of Death Note. *cry*
