There is no such thing as 'girls' in the internet so why should I be annoyed?

usually in games 90% of the players are guys and the rest 10% are the girls who are actually guys pretending to be girls :DD

but a guy having a female character is OK imo. i mean, it's not like they're pretending to be girls just because their characters are FM.

Look there is nothing wrong on playing as a girl online.

I use to play female toons on WoW and people would just assume I was a girl because I use a lot of smiley's. But I never pretended unless it was really really funny.

I play girl characters sometimes because the character build appeals to me more. For example in WOW every male character, except for blood elves, are extremely buff and overly muscled and that annoys the crap out of me.

Well..

If i have to see a character from behind for several hours a week.. I would prefer if it was female.

I'm just in it for the competition and the teamwork, rollplaying that i am a huge muscular dude with a broadsword...not all that interesting

I personally don't have a problem with guys role playing as girls unless they start saying of how a sexy girl they are.
I have a friend that does that and it's acquirer when i look at him

well i personally don't care i mean ....i also saw girls in male chars so it's ok
but it's wrong if they don't admit that they are boys or girls....misleading you

Personally I play female characters in online games because that's who I personify myself as. I play who I want to be. I don't want to be some male chizzled out of rock and flesh with abs the size of regular people's thighs. No thank you, gives me the creeps just looking at it. I am not Conan the Barbarian! I'm slim, underweight and short and I'll be damned if my bookworm of a mage looks like he could tear people's heads off with raw muscle power.

Now, if they have some variation on the male characters, then by all means I'll play them. It comes down to looks here. I think the female characters fit a lot better to play the types of characters I play than the male ones do.

As for misleading people, no I do not. I tell them honestly that I am transgendered. Guy on the outside, girl on the inside. However, I don't answer until asked. So if people go around believing I'm a girl for three years, I'm not going to stop them. Which, incidentally, some people have.

I can't believe someone would be upset by it? Anyone with a certain level of maturity would be able to take it in stride when they learn that their best friend for the last six months is infact a guy, not a girl. Or the other way around.

female characters =/= female players. And vice versa, I know some girls who play male characters because they can't stand all the sleazy whispers they get from horndogs all the time.

I think in china or some other asian country it's actually illegal for guys to play female characters in games, and the other way around. You can get arrested for it. Just think about that, people get arrested for gaming, how wierd is that?

my nephew who is 8 has been playing game since he was little...(yeah...blame me for it!) he always choose female character just because male characters usually give out freebies to female chars
