Lmao There was this guy who PMed me online saying he was a chic n' that it was rare for "her" to challenge good players online esp females. But one time, he had his mic on n' he was like "Sheeeeeeeeeet!... I mean *adjusts voice*.. mann. crap!" n' I heard him laughing. XD
I don't really care whether guys pretend to be girls online or girls pretend to be guys. It doesn't really bug me. (^ ^ )

I just pretend every gamer online is a guy and those that sound like girls are prepubescent guys with squeaky voices. So by all means, fake yourself a girl as much as you want....I cant be fooled~

Very nice...There's a positive side to communication in online games. Relationships and marriages have been built upon the foundations of LittleBigPlanet and World of Warcraft. Gamers who aren't complete cretins exist, and they're willing to travel hundreds of miles to see their high-leveled love warriors. It's like fusing blind dating with online dating, except without the tedium of writing boring "about me" introductions.

You don't hear about this often because people are ashamed of admitting that they fell in love while beheading faux-zombies together in Resident Evil 5. Can you blame them, though? It's certainly not the most romantic of scenarios. Then again, neither is drunken pretend sex that passes off as dancing at a club.

Many people have posted the reasons I rarely play female characters. Harassment and you are treated differently if the other players think you're really a girl. It's creepy and really annoying. I tend to like the male armor and models better, but then I don't tend to play humans if other races are available.

I'm not cis-gendered and I don't expect other people to be either, especially with video games. It's not a dating site and if you treat people differently based on gender or are awkward because of that, you're the one with the problem. If boys always played boy characters every MMO would be a sausage fest. I can't imagine the amount of harassment anyone playing female characters would get in that case.

If you're tricked by boy gamers playing girls, then you're naive. I don't know why it freaks people out, but that seems to be pretty normal. There's gotta be a name for that phobia, something more general than homophobia.

I dont see anything wrong with it.

I play online games as guy characters even though im a girl.

But it could have its negativites. Though i guess it could be annoying, it all depends on the situation i guess.

According to another study conducted by the Entertainment Software Association in 2010, 40% of the game playing population is female, and women 18 or older now comprise 33% of all gamers. Also, the percentage of women now playing online has risen to 42%, up several percent since 2004. The same study shows that 46% of game purchasers are female (Entertainment Software Association).[6] In recognition of the importance of the issues of women and girls as game developers and players, the International Game Developers Association, an association of companies and individuals in the games industry, has formed a special interest group on Women in Game Development.[7] This is an active field of discussion and a topic in many conferences in the video gaming industry.[URL=http://www.goddessgames.com/]Kids Games
