Well..

Even though the manga is found in a shounen magazine, I have the feeling that there are hordes of female fangirls gushing over Seb/Ciel. How will guys react to that then?

What do you all think?

well, i might not be the best person to respond...but i like the yaoi undertones.

but for guys, there are some eye candy girls. maybe not enough to draw too many male viewers in though..

Girls, I think.

Boys hardly watch shounen-ai anyway >< They watch yuri/ shoujo-ai.

I wouldn't say it appealed more to girls, sure it has Fangirlworthy guys but the story lines are dark so it may appeal to a decent size of male viewers just for that reason, while it also applies to female viewers too. ~Only decided to watch it cos it had a dark theme to it~
As mentioned there are also a few female characters that may attract more male viewers

Say what? GIRLS~~
I watch the first few episodes here. Then i got addicted and read the ,angas and after it was labeled 'Shounen-ai' I was like.

OGM OMG OMG SEBASTIAN MUST LOVE CIEL I JUST KNOW IT!!! THEY HAVE TO GET TOGETHER

lol maybe not 'get together' or rather have this really close bond which they already do.

Ooo dark themes target a niche group? Then how about Vampire Knight etc. I think the reign of darkness is here! :3

Hmm so not eveything in a shounen (younger guys) manga magazine will be for them..

I am a girl and I love this series. It really has nothing to do with any "romantic" plot. Ciel and Sebastian has a much more complicated relationship than that. I like the intricate plots and the psychology behind it. It's a nice break from the shoujo (yes, I love Shugo Chara too...)that I usually watch.

Girls, surely.

Girls even though the anime is "supposedly" shounen, this is about the gayest shounen anime I have ever watched, I may as well be watching Junjou Romantica lol. Even though the series isn't shounen ai a lot of guys think that it is so they don't watch it.

I'd say girls~
xD
But I mean... it just doesn't seem like the type of anime/manga to be appealing to boys
I think boys prefer friend or enemy relationship CLEAR
perhaps girls prefer muffled, so drama would be definite~
iono~
I personally love both~
xD
