i say it appeals more to girls than guys (because of the overflowing shonen-ai undertones~ ),,, though if it's the dark plot is what you're talking about, then i guess even guys would watch it~

Seems like there is more fan girls than fan boys. Funny that its in Shounen magazine.. maybe because its produced by Sony??

Girls of course. I get my need for bishies here. I don't support shounen-ai though, and I love the "whichever-century-it's-set-in". You know, when there was a court with princess, queens, and stuff xD
Oh and Ciel's cheeky smile just kills meh

I think Kuroshitsuji appeals to both genders because there's only a slight hint of yaoi and nothing overly romantic occurs between ciel and sebastian.

I think guys will find the mystery and twists in the plot intriguing, whereas girls will mostly squeal over sebastian's coolness and sexiness. There's also the many fighting scenes in Kuroshitsuji which are typical of shounen anime.

But i'm a girl and i'm fascinated by both aspects, maybe even more so for the mysteries involved and how "nothing-is-as-it-seems", it really makes Kuroshitsuji exciting to watch because i can never guess what will happen next *o*. I also find it interesting how a 12 year old boy can have the serious and composed mindset of an adult. Although i'd occasionally act like a fan girl and scream out "kakkoi" as sebastian shows his unique fighting abilities, i think guys will also find his fighting abilities fascinating as well.

I think the genre for Kuroshitsuji is supposed to be Shoujo instead of Shounen!
Look at all the shounen ai hints!!!
*i think there's a book published which contains yaoi SebbyCiel?*
Anyway, this anime is awesome and..mostly loved by girls. XP
