Safari is evil. I dislike it to death. I keep deleting it from my laptop but some unknown person continually downloads it back.
I find it slow and some sites don't work since they ask you to download firefox.
As for norton anti-virus...It's more evil than safari and Internet Explorer put together.

Thanks for the thread. I think I'll download AVG.

I tried it a few hours ago, It didn't work

Here was my review:

"It didn't exactly work out for me. I tried it the first time on the Google search. The entire list of sites had the green letter "O". I was surprised that one particular site also had a green colored O next to it, because last time I went on the same site, the anti spy ware from Norton popped up. So I clicked on the link because I thought if WOT approved of the site, it would be okay to click on it. Shortly after that, the same fake Norton anti spy ware ad popped up like last time and THEN the 'O' in the tool bar became red. Couldn't it have done that before I went into the site?"

Not exactly the addons fault, if people (foolish as they might be :P) have given the site a good rating, there isn't much the addon can warn you against.

Try using AdBlock Plus and see if you can get that ad that you had popping up blocked.

NoScript: Why NoScript?
No Script will in almost all situations block any scripts on the sites you visit, so combined with AdBlock Plus you're extra safe from harm. You can allow the scripts on the sites you choose, or temporary allow all scripts. Personally, I used it before - but I got tired of having to allow every new site I visited, and I'm fairly experienced in what is safe and not - so I'm not using the addon, but for those that are still uncertain and inexperienced, this is a highly recommended addon.
Download NoScript

Can you explain to me what scripts you talking about? I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

Example of scripts:

Ads popping up, forcing you to another site, making a download happen, flash programs (like a small game or something) etc

Thanks. I got it now. :)
I really don't like being force to another site. I can only press the "back/previous" button for so much.

Based on experience, AVG is strict. Even the trial version.
I could only use IE and Firefox for 5 minutes, then the windows automatically closed by themselves.
I hated that.

I dislike this comment. I love safari. But I still love you.

As for AVG... it's a pathetic piece of software compared to the other anti-virus software you pay for. Well... I guess that's why it's pathetic ~ it's free. It does a good job in telling you you're infected, but doesn't do much to protect you, in the end. The updates are usually, well... not up to date... and quite a lot of frustration is had when you realize you've been infected too late.

As for the topic, in general, I thought it'd be good to bring up this:

USA Today: Data scams...

I think it's kinda relevant today, and shows that some user-intellect is necessary in this day and age. You can be protected, but if you aren't too sharp about these little tricks online, it's easy for you to get snagged. Best we all prepare ourselves and keep on our toes.
