to be more realistic, instead of using a royal family, they could've just used the First family, as janelle being the president's daughter, that would be more appropriate for the philippine setting

hmmmm... that's actually not a bad idea...
*wink*

i also agree ^____^
but it wont identify the filipino culture

tch!
tell me about it!
they should transcend beyond those typical filipino dramas
which plots are always the "rich v. poor"
or are always too DRAMATIC
[people luv korean, chinese, and jdoramas b/c they're usually funny]
i believe in filipinos!
they can make something better than that...
go filipinos!
[hehe]

philippines.. may royal family? this is baffling

another hater. Do you think Korea has a royal family? Obviously you haven't seen the original drama.

actually, i agree with teejheylike... it doesn't make any sense...i mean, sure.. korea doesn't have a royal family..
at least not anymore, b/c they used to have it...but philippines?? come on! philippines has never had a royal family..it just doesn't make any sense...
and don't get me wrong here...
i like maja salvador
and i like the fact that they're trying to remake some of the best dramas
but i think they should pick something that's not that extraneous [idk if it's the right term]

Exactly.. and fyi I did watch the original series. Obviously kerkeloo you're the one who is oblivious The only royal family or so-called royal blood the philippines have are the muslims.. So watcha think? Royal family in the philippines? I wonder how much creative juice the writers of this version have to think of a decent excuse for the philippines to have a royal family.. And what palace will they have? the Malacanang palace perhaps?

"malacanang palace"
lol
that's a good one!

please if they are going to make a remake of something big like goong, i hope that they would give their best in producing a better material. the producers should consider to get actors and actresses who are world class. This remake is not only viewed by the filipino audience but also by the rest of the world. They should have the budget for the whole tv series. It can be observed that during promotion everything seems grand but when the show is on-going you can observe that everything has been tightly budgeted.
and please don't stretch the series too much. too many plots, too many characters. phew! only in the philippines.

its nice to know that this tv station can buy the rights of the said popular tv series but they should give justice to the chance given to them to make this remake.

That's a good starting point actually. The writers could link the Rajah/Sultans in the past who in fact had been trading with Chinese traders (there's actually some historians who think that some of the descendants of the last Chinese empire migrated to Luzon who interwed with the muslims in Manila then) to the protagonists so as to provide a palpable Philippine royal family. It would be an interesting story I think.

why am I not surprised to hear this?

stop it already.
i really don't get it why you guys love filipino remakes so much~
they are ruining the original version~
at least the other country's remakes, they always surpasses the original version~
i mean their remakes are better than the original..
but as for the filipino remakes..
