Roller Coasters are not that scary,
since I feel a bit safer watching other people ride it first.

...but I will say I sometimes dread riding them because of the physical pain it inflicts on my head and abdomen.

Physical pain on your head?

For some reason,
when I'm on a roller coaster my head will suddenly jerk to the side due to the inertia from making a turn,
and either hit the head support on the car or the head of the person sitting next to me,
or slam against the back of the seat, if high enough.
And whenever I try to fix the position, the ride makes another sharp turn that starts the cycle all over again.

Though, since not many others seem to have this problem, I can only conclude I am doing something wrong whenever I ride a roller coaster...

I love roller coasters, but I don't ride them often anymore. Here is a story to explain why.

I was at Six Flags in Arlington. I noticed I was the oldest person in line. I though "Heh, I'm the oldest guy in line." When I got off I held my head and though "Oh God! I know why I was the oldest person in line!" I'll still ride them. They are great. I just pre-take Ibuprofen to lessen the impending headache.

I'll ride the smaller ones, but that's about it. The majority of the ones at Six Flags scare me. I hate heights.

To anyone scared of getting on roller coasters find the faster one at whatever park you go to and it will pretty much kill your fear of riding them.
