First of all, learn to spell Japanese.
Second, how many Japanese dramas have you watched, exactly? You sure it's enough to judge them?
Third, to answer your question, you can re-read this because I think it's fantastically written:

luv4dawave wrote:

Because Oguri Shun will always be my Hanazawa Rui <333

LOL JK....well not really, but there is much more [=

I have seen Meteor Garden and the latest of Boys Over Flowers, but to me, Hana Yori Dango will always be the best version to me.

First of all, ACTING:
Lee Min Ho does a FANTASTIC job, I have to admit. I totally fell in love with him. But he doesn't bring the same characteristics as Matsumoto Jun. Matsujun was not only this obnoxious, arrogant jerk--he was quite funny as well. He was a total mess of a character, full of mood swings, changing from one extremity to the next. In one scene, when he finds out that Rui kissed Makino in the hospital, you could see mixed emotions as he laughed and cracked jokes yet tripped over the stairs at the same time. Right after this, out of nowhere, he punches Rui in the face. Domyouji is a really complicated character [even as I'm trying to describe him] and I feel like Lee Min Ho only portrays his arrogant side (and loving side to Jandi), but Matsumoto Jun is able to portray the lost person that he is, neglected by his family, though finding love for the first time.

Oguri Shun vs. Hyun Joong. Umm....I'm pretty sure I don't have to say much to this. I LOVE Hyun Joong, but he IS a first time actor. And it's unfair to put him against Oguri Shun, a professional actor. I'll just say that HJ was stiff and...didn't really matter if he was there or not. Up to episode 7, he got better, but he just doesn't bring the same emotions as Oguri Shun. When I watched Hana Yori Dango, I cried for Rui. He was so mysterious and lonely, yet he smiled. And when he played the violin...I died. When Hyun Joong played the violin...I laughed. It looked pretty fake. Oguri Shun was Hanazawa Rui. Hyunjoong? He played himself.

Goo Hye Sun isn't a bad actor, but I felt that her "weed" status did not keep up in the Korean version. I didn't feel an emphasis on her toughness. I just felt that she didn't like Go Jun Pyo. On the other hand, you could see Makino truly didn't know who she liked more. On the outside, she liked Rui, but deep inside, she kept thinking of Domyouji. Makino showed more internal conflicts than Jandi. It just seemed that Goo Hye Sun got through her role by exaggerating her emotions. Makino often seemed exaggerated too, but...it actually is the way that Japanese people talk. [You know, with the EHHH?s haha]

Secondly, CHEMISTRY.
The main part about this storyline is F4, right? Well, I didn't feel F4 in BOF. Sure, they were 4 hot guys, while the Japanese F4 may seem like 4 old thugs or whatever. At first, I saw Japanese F4, I cringed. I thought Matsumoto Jun looked like Michael Jackson. Akira [Abe] looked like he was 35 years old instead of a high schooler. But you know what? They grow on you like leeches. I fell in love with them. Their fights, their inside jokes, THE APPLE that Rui would shave. Boys Over Flower doesn't emphasize their friendship. Sure, they got their "Thanks Buddy" thing going on and everything, but you don't see the bond that Japanese F4 creates. Matsumoto Jun and Oguri Shun displayed powerful chemistry in this drama, whereas Ji Hoo and Jun Pyo just seemed to be...just friends.

Okay, I could write an essay comparing all the versions but I'm not going to. You shouldn't compare versions, or it would ruin the point of it, right? Boys over Flowers has its good points--it's quite entertaining and I love the casting of Jandi's family. All the versions are good in its own way, but if I had to pick my favorite, it would be Hana Yori Dango. Since a lot of people had said they really liked it, doesn't that prove that it's worth a chance to watch? You will see that the Korean version runs a lot of similarities to the Japanese version, but their portrayal is different. Heck, some lines are even exactly the same, but you get a different feeling.

I strongly recommend that you try it!
It has been the best drama I have ever seen, and maybe you will enjoy it too.
I think it's quite extreme to hate all Japanese dramas.
What is it there to hate about it?
I love Japanese dramas as they cut to the chase rather than Korean dramas and their draggy plots.
I disagree that they are lame.
Korean dramas focus only on love. Japanese dramas focus on love, life, family, and friendship. I find Jdramas often more deep and profound. It's a matter of opinion, but I think you should watch more Jdramas before you declare that you "hate all of them."

To put it simply, Hana Yori Dango has more depth. Sorry for my long long post [=

i like this version 'cause...

first, acting wise...matsumoto jun bring out the worst and the best side of domyouji tsukasa, i like it when he's face became blank and you don't know what's he's thinking(like the scene when he saw rui and makino in their "secret" place)...one of my fave scene!
and when he glare, huh!no one can beat that, not even jerry!...and most of all he's lots of fun! too many to mention, but what i like best is when soujiro and akira asked him, when he got he's first kiss?...and he said "two days ago!", hahaha soo funny!!

though i must say i love joon pyo!...can't help it, he's sooo adorable!

second...makino, inoue mao is soo natural. she did this role, without breaking soo much sweat! soo effortless!!
'cause jan di tend to be over reacting to the point that's it's kinda annoying to watch....*peace sign*

zai zai would always be my rui/lei!!
oguri shun did also well, but not as good as lei....*peace sign again*
but compare to ji hoo, he's soooooo much better!!

and last...the airport scene, you can feel hard for both them to accept they have to live apart.....
i cried a lot in that scene... the way makino finally confessed that she love domyouji! (you're stupid, selfish, and self centered i've fallen in love with...) then domyouji grab her....and the kiss!!! it's one of the best kiss ever!!!
argh!!...just love HYD!!
my only regret is that...i don't watch this sooner!! i watched it two years after...soooo glad i changed my mind!
cause if you don't watch this....YOUR MISSING A LOT!!!

For me, HYD is the best drama I've ever seen!!!
It's the only drama that can make me feel sad and happy when the main characters are sad n happy..
Especially how Makino feels I also feel it, choosing between Rui and Domyouji.. confused...

And the best thing I think is their chemistry!!!
DomyoujixMakino/ JunxMao are great together!!! But Rui and Makino are also good!!
And F4 with Makino... And their acting skills are also good..

but this is just my opinion...

story,acting,directing, musicality-Wise.Hyd did it superiorily.
This drama has challenged my views about dramas and artists..... from looking at the mere aspect of superficiality to the more in depth analysis of quality...from a being a fanatic turning to a critic

overall, i appreciate the scrupulousness of the drama:
1. the emphasis of quality and consistency,
2.how the drma proved jun to suit Tsukasa, though phy. he is not qualified (who i had doubtd b4),
3.emphasis on morals n values w/ love.
4.how the directors managed to direct the minimalist yet stunning scenes..
5.This ser. proved me wrong bout my pre-judgmnts..

ive lernd 2 criticize drmas/movies by lookin on quality n creativity..mor than superficiality..Quality is better than quantity .

Japanses HYD is the best why?
First the drama is not rushed and the script doesn't seem "forced" (for example you know when Makino start liking Domyoji, to love him after)
this drama's filming is class
the soundtrack is unbeatable
Acting and chemistry between the characters and their development. Jun Matsumoto is the only one who really expressed everything characterising Domyoji ( I like the scene with the puzzle when he says "I have to be responsible", here you can see Domyoji is not so stupid and immature he looks. The scene when he first threatned Sakurako "the way he looks at her". I like all his scenes with his mother Makino, Tsubaki, F4 [too funny with Akira and Sojiro] especially Rui "when he sleeps in Rui House and he begs him. What a friendship!!" and Susumu too...There are so many many scenes.). The way Jun/ Mao... oups Domyoji and Makino kiss and touch each other. OMG!! What a couple. It's too believable
Smart Director.
The presence of the F4 "Red Card" and how powerful and influencal are F4

I love you...LOL kidding. Y ou really said what is in my mind. Me either I did not like Jun's look but only with the range of emotions he expresses through his eyes and his acting (after KWP, Gokusen) he blew me away. It's like Michael Keaton in the role of Batman. At first you think he doesn't look soo good to play this role, but the way he acted and his charisma totally overshadowed the look department.
The chemistry between the characters is WOAH. Even Domyoji and Yuki annoying Boyfriend had chemistry... LMAO...The Zoo scene. Domyoji tried every ways to stand and not beat him and he (yuki's boyfriend) didn't stop teasing and bash Domyoji [at Eitoku he would be killed in the next second]. I like the "monkey part" I can't help but laugh at Domyoji expressions. LOL "Cultural clashes". I also love the scene before the double date when Makino called Domyoji. When he picked the phone His expressions changes too funny. Plus the Hamingyay scene Domyoji expressions at first. I LOVE EVERY DOMYOJI SCENES because even though they are quiet they are dynamic.
