Have you ever noticed that whenever americans draw,In mose cases theres little detail? Compare that to Japanese anime, naruto,Bleach,Etc,isnt there just so much detail and so much more popularity? I think that american animaters could learn a lil bit from the japanese is all,What do you think?

they don't really care so much in general. just wanna keep the lil kids happy (which is easy) and make money. japanese have to appeal to a serious, older audience who are harder to please.

Anime began at the start of the 20th century, when Japanese filmmakers experimented with the animation techniques that were being explored in France, Germany, the United States, and Russia.[3] The oldest known anime in existence was screened in 1917 - a two minute clip of a samurai trying to test a new sword on his target, only to suffer defeat.[4]

The success of Disney's 1937 feature film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs influenced Japanese animators.[6] In the 60's, Osamu Tezuka adapted and simplified many Disney animation techniques to reduce the costs and number of frames in the production. This was intended to be a temporary measure to allow him to produce material on a tight schedule with an inexperienced animation staff.

Most anime is not supposed to have a large budget. They use background repeats when characters walk, they reuse frames when their characters are talking just by reusing the mouth shapes. In American cartoons they sometimes try to make the mouth move like they're trying to pronounce every syllable. Disney's Gargoyles is a good example of good American cartoon animation. I liked Mighty Max, too. That was an early 90's cartoon.

They both have their good and bad points.

Some Japanese anime is fairly lacking in the quality and detail department. Others are very well done. But I will always have a strong love for Disney animation. :)

And to be honest, I've thought that the quality and the detail in Bleach has gone down. If you look at the first episodes in Bleach they used a lot more detail. When Ichigo was in Death God form in the real world they gave the world an awesome glowing hue. They used better shadowing techniques, et cetera.

The example of the hue I wish they didn't take out when they were in the "spiritual" part of the real world:

Offers great fucking quality everytime.

On topic: Pros and Cons, its personal taste + it's also taking into account that anime can get very M rated, whereas most american cartoons lean for the children age group.

RIGHT!

listen up.

If you're talking about detail of the actual animation then it's because anime uses less frames per second therefore, which is why they can detail their illustrations as much as they can. If they attempted to do so with the frame rate Westerners use then they'll never get anything produced.

And even so anime has a lot of shoddy work within the animations, in some cases you can actually freeze frame mid running scene and some times a character's face would look nothing like..

Some Japanese anime got their ideas from western cartoons, anyway.

But no anime can live up to Looney Toons, that's my favorite show ever.

Not really, it depends on what you like, America likes to take a more comedic tone for their animations, but Disney makes the most beatiful movies in history. I could not compare the two, not really anyway, some American animations are good and some are bad. Some Japanese animations are good, and some are bad. But, in terms of art, Japanese usually take the prize. In beatiful stories, Disney can match and a lot of times beat Japanese animation. Sometimes normal American animations can match as well. Courage the Cowardly Dog is awesome, haha. It all depends on personal taste.
