I think twilight is okay, but new moon sucks a lot.
As for HP, I think is a good creation.

You may not like his books but they are way better written than those Twilight books.

Well here's my thoughts on this:

JK rowling writes focused on a male audience.

Stephen King writes to a generally Male ADULT audience....
Granted Stephen King has written a couple of books directed towards a younger audience (which i was forced to read in high school english class) So he does have a basis of comparison.... but not really.... his book may have won awards, and is heralded as a great piece of fiction, however, it was never on a best seller list, nor did he create multiple books for the younger audience that hit the best-seller list.

Therefore, his "attack" (if you call saying a best selling writer isn't a good writer an attack) on Stephanie Meyer is rather harsh and unjust. She's writing to a mainly FEMALE younger audience and has five books on the best seller list. (one is an adult book) her writing style is much different than JK Rowling OR Stephen King. She writes about emotions and relationships, they just happen to be in extremely insane situations (ie vampires or her adult book - aliens) She doesn't write overtly about sex like Stephen King does (think IT here - a bunch of middle schoolers fucking in the sewers)
They may all be authors, but their styles are so vastly different from each other that there really is no basis of comparison.

Besides, Stephen King's works after his accident just plain SUCK.

**Note: I have read books by all three authors, and IMHO all of them have their redeeming qualities, however none of them are George R. R. Martin or Tolkien's equivelant. If you want to pull random comparisons between authors, all of the above three authors are complete crap compared to Martin and Tolkien. I mean come on here.

God bless that man. God bless *wipes tear from eye* XD

It's not even that I don't like the book (i haven't read it because everyone's so protective of their copies, and i'm not wasting money on something i already have a bad impression of). It's just that people are obsessed with it and it really gets on my tits
We had a free period one time and every girl on my table took out their twilight books and ignored all distractions... it was creepy.

This isn't anything new. Stephen King took a similar stance before. He dismissed Anne Rice's Interview with a Vampire as nothing but "soft core pornography."

Seems he's very critical about certain female authors' writing styles. Doesn't surprise me that he said this about the Twilight series.

Here's the old NYT article that i got the quote for "soft core pornography" from, it's on the first page:

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9E0CE1DF103EF93AA35752C1A96E958260

Here's an article explaining Stephen King's views on "chick lit" vs. "manfiction"

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20225323,00.html

personally, i think king raises valid points about meyer's writing style. and who better to judge than another writer? i think i'll leave it up to someone who's been writing for more than i've been existing to be the judge of that.

i remember that... when King was bashing Rice... i think he's just got a thing against female authors romanticizing Vampires... he's bitched about almost every successful female author who's written novels about vampires... so maybe there's a correlation there?

I wonder where is porn there. It`s one of my fav books and if King is homophobic it`s not my bloody problem. And it`s funny to hear that from a guy who uses AWFUL sex scenes in almost every book of his.

I don`t summarize men but it seems about 80% of them are angry as shit when it comes to succesful women. They hate strong talanted women like Courtney Love or Anne Rice and call them bitches because it`s hard to like somebody when she/he makes great things and you`re lying on your couch drinking Coke.
Sorry for aggressive post but this is:
SEXCIST BULLSHIT
