Dunno, I'd say that JK Rowling's writing style is a bit too simplistic and naive at times too.

Eh, I can't really see too much of the simplicity, but I get what you mean by naive, sometimes, but mostly I think her books were very well writtne. Stephen is a brilliant writer as well, but not Meyer so much.

...doi, well sorry to burst your bubble, but you do realize that the original fairy tales Andersen wrote personally have already been lost in translation--in fact, many details have been changed, same thing with the Grimm brothers... so if you're talking about their own personal writing style, I doubt you'd find a good copy anywhere of their fairy tales that preserve the author's own style of writing...
...but if you're talking about the content, then perhaps you've got a point there...

..yes, goddamit, finally somebody has made the comparison between the three who've actually read their books and i agree with you all the way~ and yes, those three just cannot compare with Tolkien's work...
....and what accident with King that happened are you talking about?

umm he didn't "bitchslap" j.k rowling, just stephanie meyer. meyer's writing really isn't that great, if you think about it. just a whole bunch of mushy purple prose slapped together in a 500+ page book...

I read this news last night before going to sleep and it totally made my day!!!

i love how king said, "the real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn"

harhar..

twilight sucks badly..

stop comparing the authors and the books.. twilight isn't better than those fan fic authors..

He was hit by a car while walking in his neighborhood in Maine... he was almost dead and stuff... it was in summer of 1999, June 19th to be exact... everything he's written since then has been just complete and utter crap.

Stephen King, you ARE my hero. Now I just wish that Stephenie Meyer would become 'an hero' How dare they even compare their books with each other? Every sane person knows that Twilight is a piece of shit, and I'm glad you're one of those people that think so, too.

Even though his books were never on the bestseller list, doesn't mean they weren't good. It obvious that in this day and age, anyone can make it on the bestsellers list, even if they can't write.

The original fairy tales were very, very violent. :3 I think Vintage Publications classified their stories under the Horror genre. :)

stephanie meyer is defniately ugh...

and jk rowling i mean wtf it started getting crappy scince book 5. (btw anyone else notice the change of her writing styles as the series progressed, maybe its because of harry going through peuberty or something but i liked her first books better...)

o and btw i think that was kind of rude to stephen king i mean the audience targeted are completely different, and meyer is making more money than he is
