High School of the Dead is a good zombie survival story with real zombies like in Dawn of the Dead. Also the main character of Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka is indeed a zombie.

Whoever says "High School of the Dead"..... so many FACEPALMS. The first few episodes of HSOTD was good, but it turned into a porno rather than a zombie anime. 3/4 is porn, 1/4 is romance and running away. Play some real zombie killing games, like Resident Evil 4, to appreciate what the Zombie experience truly is.
Edit: I don't know what is going in your minds when you say High School of the Dead is a great anime. It falls way down the list compared to real animes, it's not worthy to be called "good", it's only okay at best and worth watching.

As for the zombie genre, I think High School of the Dead has the scariest zombie animation thus far ,I have friends who are into zombie movies approve of this until we saw episode 6 , the shower scene .
Why he said, they dont need to have this s**t , its good enough as it is , survival is pretty much what zombie genre are all about.
I was at the panel for this anime and (got the director and animation directors autograph) i really wanted to ask why did you guys have to put so much R rated fanservice but I was too late.

High School of the Dead would be most peoples answers. I enjoyed the anime however people that are hoping to get a second season will have to wait a really long time since one chapter of HSOD takes around a year to make, no joke. Plus, I think it is on hiatus too.
