Since when is Karate "unorthodox"?

His demolition of Thiago Silva proved that he can finish fights.

Can Rashad Evans Beat Lyoto machida????

Lets discuss this Karateka.

Lyoto Machida is quite possibly, the best light heavy weight fighter in the UFC as well as any MMA organizations out there. He is Japanese Brazilian Karateka and the son of Karate Master, Yoshizo Machida. He is currently undefeated and has notable wins over BJ penn, Stephan Bonnar, Rich Franklin, Vernon White, Kazuhiro Nakamura, Sokojou, Tito Ortiz, and most recently Thiago Silva due to his methodical style, elusive nature, and pinpoint accuracy. His next fight with current UFC light heavyweight champ is gonna be the best fight in the light heavy weight division rivaling the Couture vs. Liddel in UFC or the Silva vs. Henderson in PrideFC. Lyoto Machida is a breath of Fresh air in the Muay Thai, BJJ, and Wrestling dominated world of MMA. Need I say more?

I am now a total fan of Machida. Wow his ability to counterstrike is amazing. he uses technique and finess and moves in and out avoiding being hit at all! He makes his opponents chase his and he strikes using their momentum agaainst them and his sweeps are just beautiful. The way we drill in class, but put put to use in a fight! I am amazed!

Once again, Lyota the Dragon has prooven his MA skills in the ring. (against Rysad Evans on the 23rd of May) Which leads me to believe that someone who has trained in martial arts for many years, then eters the UFC ring has a definative advantage!!

Thats right! Gone are the days of bar-room brawlers, and street fighting thugs in Mixed Martial Arts. The Technicians are back and taking over MMA. Lyoto Machida has shown that one does not have to fit in the mold of the usual Muay Thai/Jiu-Jitsu/Brawling fighter in order to succeed. He is a force to be reckoned with in the Light Heavy weight division due to his hard work, technique, and intelligence. Technique > Strength.

I am hoping that we see do see the end of these young tough guys who train for 6 months and make it big in UFC. Lyota does have a strong chin, he can take abuse, so the new UFC fighters are gonna have to be tough + skilled! and Intelligence sure helps! Cant wait to see the sport in about 5 years, when the newest gen will have years of good training behind them!

Lyoto Machida is the reincarnation of Bruce Lee. That's why he rules. Bruce was up "there" and devised a plan and came down in the form of Machida and gave everyone a run for their money. Plus, listen to Machida's voice carefully. I'm a big Machida fan, even though he drinks his own pee.

even if he did get "beaten" or was beaten imo only by shogun! he plays the psychological game and knows how to let go and find opening on the ground.. if you know ground if you're choking from the bottom and hes choking you from up.. or if you're grabbing to counter and he's armbarring you let go.. or if he overhooks your leg! let go of the position and find another! and he didnt get slammed by rampage by rampage's classic move! hes good but needs to work more on the boxer skills ..his bursts open him up.. if he could combine the pinpointing hed be awesome! he has great stamina i be wrong about it but from wat ive seen hes very patient.. and can take a hit..but to counter from gettin hit is something else
