The forbidden industry. An economic “godsend” which will allow everyone “power” over someone else. Polite, sophisticated, technologically feasible slavery. And the most profitable industry - T.V. and the computer???....

I read this article recently. So basically, humans will be obselete in 2020. :D

I for one would like to welcome our robotic overlords of the future.

I would go against anything like this, I dont think humans should be replicated in any shape or form. We create life naturally, why mess with nature and natural creation to "build" a similar lifeform. Its a waste of human resources, technology and money. If prolonging life is what there aim is to be then I still disagree. If your gonna die.. then die ffs. If your gonna lose a limb then live with it, people have done for centries.

[Edit] Anyone else agree?

^ I believe AI appearing in a less tangible form, quite like that explained in the article contained in BK's link:

http://www.computerworld.com.au/index.php?id=1485956242

But are cyborgs still a go? It'd be cool if humans can get modular designs to "cyborize" parts of their body. Now I don't care about the ethical issues around it, but it'd be cool to have a built in computer in your brain... and you can surf the internet while some boring chap talks to you about the economy, and you initiate a head nodding routine to make it appear like your listening...

just kidding.

well at least you agree. If anything thats the thing that bothers me most. Why waste so much on things like this when there is so much more that could be done in the world.

In 2020? I doubt it. They said years ago that similar things would happen in 2010...nah

I'd put my brain in a tiger robot with the strength of five go-rillas!
Here is important research material regarding this subject:

I fully believe it's possible. They said AI, not a complete robot that can function like a human. So it would simply be a super computer that can think like a human, only better.
