Philippines is the next country to have its own F4


Another country, another “Hana Yori Dango” remake.

ABS-CBN, a major television network in the Philippines has bagged the rights for the fifth— and as of this writing– current “Hana Yori Dango” remake. If you check the network’s Wikipedia page, listed under the ‘Upcoming Shows: Foreign Adaptation’ is the said drama. But unlike the Korean version which takes after the Japanese dorama, the Philippine remake will follow the “Meteor Garden” format instead.

Aired in 2001, “Meteor Garden” was the first TV adaptation of the “HYD” manga. It became an instant hit all over Asia especially in the Philippines.



The casting for this new remake is yet to be finalized but the network already listed Sarah Geronimo, a famous actress and singer in her country, to play the role of San Cai/Makino/Jandi.

i don't know what to say..but i hope it will turn out good..coz i think it's not that believable..having them act as F4 boys..& compared to F4 boys of other previous versions..i bet it'll be tough..

...really?! but i think it's too early for this! ( korea is currently airing BBF and soon, chinese version!) so, maybe it would be better if ever abs will do the remake of HYD/MG to wait 2 to 3 years ...
and i don't like the "F4"...

I disagree with the info saying that the Korean version is taking after the Japanese version, because I think it takes after both Taiwanese and Japanese versions...storywise, that is...but if you're only talking about how the guys look, then yes it takes after the Jp version...

Now on the topic, I think they made the right choice of casting Sarah for the role of San Cai / Makino...I'm definitely sure she'll make great justice to the character. I'm telling you guys Sarah knows how to be tough, no doubt about it. Now I hope they won't make haste in picking the rest of the cast... they should pick good ones, not only by looks but most especially they must have good acting skills, plus someone they all should have good chemistry with each other...

I am so tired of dissing about Filipino remakes since it's not like they're gonna stop because I did so. So what I can do is just wait for that drama, hope it doesn't disappoint, then I criticize....constructively, of course.

Actually I don't just hope that it doesn't disappoint, I hope it lives up to the genuine laughter, giggles, and awesomeness that the other versions gave us and are still giving us.

i dont like the guys and yes i seen them act and they wont fit the role of any of them prolly the ast guy i dont remember his name but yah

i dont like the first picture him i dont see him acting as the main lead of F4

i vote for her in the role.

I don't seem to agree about the F4 cast,..don't think they can portray it well,..as for Sarah,.well,.I don't know,.maybe she can do well,.we'll see,..
