Extremely picky.
I don't like a lot of genres : (e.g. yaoi/yuri/hentai/smut/robots/ecchi/supernatural/horror/super power/tearjerker/student-teacher)
I only read manga with fantasy if i feel that the fantasy part is put to good use and make the story unique and interesting.
I'm not fond of fantasy genre as much as most of the anime/manga fans.
There are a lot times i dropped quite a few manga after 1chapter even though it is really popular because i don't see potential in it.
I don't foresee the possibilities of me loving it.
Some people say that first chapter is just setting up. But a good manga can make the first chapter fun or show hidden potential for the story as well. Some maybe good in the latter chapters but i cannot foresee myself liking it if i yawn/have a hard time reading the first chapter.
Life is short , i wouldn't want to waste my time on awful entertainment.

Well, I'm not that picky, I read all kinds of manga, I decide to read the manga based on what kind of genre it is, and basically, I read all kinds of genre mangas, from shounen, shoujo, seinen and manwha etc etc. The only I do not read and refuse to read is the shounen ai and the yaoi ones...

I've been told that I am very picky. I only read manga that has "who I think are" cute guys. I would much perfer manga with "what I think to be" good art. And they have to be "what I think to be" a good story. I would also perfer them to be written by guys and the manga's are not perverted. A GREAT example would be Shakugan no Shana! Which by the way is my favorite manga I own!

Yes and no. I'll try lots of stuff (have over 1,000 manga entries on MAL after all ) but there's a couple things I DEFINITELY don't like, such as stuff that's cliche or really racy or of a couple genres I don't like (such as martial arts, adaptation of a game, an others). |

im very picky about the art since i want to read graphic novels with pretty pictures to fill my mind, but i don't really care about the storyline as long as it is appropiate, and not one of those stupid cliche plots about this mahou shoujo and she saves the world by singing etc etc etc
