Favoritism is natural, but it would be better if they didn't have favorites.
I'm liked by teachers even though I have average/bad grades because of my cheerful and nice personality ^^.
I'm liked so much that I'm in advanced classes and I'm stupid.

The teachers showed favouritism to me in school, and others who were kind, or just funny. I think it's pretty normal. I'm not going to like the guy/girl who doesn't hand in their assignments or talks while I'm talking, and all the other annoying things they do. Hell, why would I say to them " You did great " when their work shows no effort of trying to do well? Some can't do well because they don't understand, others are just lazy asses. Other than that, I was called a suck up, teachers pet, etc just for respecting and being kind to a teacher ( which is my normal personality , btw ). What I understood was that they were just jealous of my supreme power.

For everyone who wants to be a favourite, these are the basic steps: Smile even if you hate them, laugh at their jokes, joke with them, respect them ( a.k.a be kind ), and try your best and let the teacher know that.

But the teacher's I had were the best. Even though they favored someone over another, they graded fairly, and when I say fairly, I mean really fairly.

Almost all our teachers are sexist. Good for the girls, I don't know if that is the same.

I just remembered something.
They chose HER as class representative because she's a favorite and not ME.
ME WANTS TO KILL HER RIGHT NOW.....

I like favouritism because I'm usually my teacher's favourite, as I am really smart.

actually, you cant avoid favoritism. whether you like it or not, you would like someone the best consciously or unconsciously.

in this world, there is always a person that stands out.

But i know some professors that give their favorite the lowest grade even though the student doesnt deserve it.( just for the sake of no complains or conflicts)

It's just the way it is, there's nothing we can do. Everyone picks favorites, it just can't be helped.

I myself used to be a teacher's pet because I was so timid and reserved. Then, I started realizing that school really wasn't for me. I talked to some people about it and the treatment reversed.

Ho ho ho

I remember this spoiled girl I had in my class back in college. This wench loves nothing but sucking up to the teacher all the time and it was really annoying. She always hand in some half-assed assignments and still end up getting good grades for them. Where in the case of others, we have to put in more efforts on our work to get the same kind of grade. It was such a farce that I had to put up with this crap for 2 years...

Favoritism is everywhere. It's not something we can do much about. Atleast I'm happy knowing that I got my grades from doing honest work =)

When I used to be in a private school, I had one of the teachers daughter in my class. So anyway my english teacher was once angry at something (can't remember) and gave us a really hard english test. The highest score was 40% so everyone screwed up lol.
Anyway the next day that teachers daughter (who failed the test. She was one of the smart ones in class) got called up to the front desk to redo the test.

This is just one of the smaller things. That was one fucked up school. I know public schools may have a bad reputation or so from what I hear. But it can't be as bad as that private school. I was the happiest person on Earth when I left.

Yeah having favoritism is normal. I mean, were just humans~
but when teachers having favoritism? well yeah.. but isn't that, like unfair? i mean teachers should treat his/her students equally and fairly..
just think on how would other students feel if teachers are giving special treatments to their so-called "favoritism"? they would feel left out..
im not saying that Favoritism is bad, but i dont think you really have to show it.. it would really be unfair to other students..

Like during highschool days, i used to have this teacher.. She was our math teacher (Algebra, Statistics, Accounting).
She was really good in discussing.. She makes the topic easier for us to understand, the only thing i hate about her is that she has her favoritism...and mostly her favoritisms are those students that are quite "popular" in school..

So far all my teachers like me, except my 9th grade science; cause I have an "attitude"(his fault for asking me pointless questions). Normally, my teachers let me do whatever I want when I finish my work and stuff; they never tell me anything, not even I don't do my homework.

So being favored does has it strong points; unlike being disliked like this girl in my math class.

But her fault for being a drama queen and talking back. teachers do not like that. Even less when you're failing with a 20%

I really wanted to read the OP, but that red was blinding and disorientating me.

But students and teachers alike show favoritism. I know I do and I know some of my teachers do too.

its one thing to go out of your way to kiss the teacher's ass, its quite another when they go out of theirs to kiss yours. i always did my work and followed the rules in school and the teachers often went out of their way to put me on the spot. my friend on the other hand, kissed lots of ass all the time. needless to say, he reaped far better rewards from kissing ass than i did from avoiding it.
