So then the fetus is property of a mother? If so then why shouldn't she just kill it if it makes her mad after its born? what if in the future if the mom hates her child? should she just then kill it because its not loved?

but alot of the disagreements about it will be orientated on the sanctity of life. Imo its ok cos the child hasnt experianced anything like memories. Its the same with Things like Euthanasia. Its the new debat of the Sanctity of life vs the Quality of life.

Even science defines life too, not just religion. the 4 criteria for life are secular. A fetus meets all those criteria, therefore it is living. So your saying that if life isn't to a sertain quality that peple should just kill themselvs? Life isn't supposed to be easy, you have to earn things in life.

....God, Sad, tell me you were being sarcastic!
That’s a completely more likely if, Goog… Edit: Here's a question though, what if the child will be born like... I dunno, severely retarded? |

“Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could...

hahaha.. Well this sucks, my last log in was centuries ago.. :))

right lets look at this from a religous stand point. God has a master plan. He intends for things to happen. Does that mena he intended for abortion?

abortion occurs not because of God... i think why abortion exist is that people do not use the freedom bestowed on wisely... |

so digs are you against the death penalty?
you against war? what about stem cell research? something that could save millions of lives? also find me where in a widely accepted science anything it defines what the criteria of life is. |

Does that mena he intended for abortion? off-topic, but whether God has a master plan and what the plan is... isn't for us to assume =) no one knows if there's a master plan to begin with. the decisions we make face its own judgment in time. whether it be by God's hand or by our own, whichever comes first. |

God gives people choices, they can make the wrong choice if they want too. now your the one bringing religion into this debate. . .
I think the death penalty is only acceptible in cases of murder. I am against most wars, but if someone is trying to kill you you should defend yourself. I hate when people bring up stem cells, thats another "if." My poppop(grandfather) has multiple miloma (its a form of bone cancer) and he is a stem cell research subject. They have made progress from his stem cells. |

Well, if you want to draw religious beliefs into this, I believe that God knows everything that is going to happen but does not necessarily like it. He gave us free will as a gift, and we often abuse that. So he didn’t intend for the babies abortion, but he didn’t interfere because that would be taking back the gift he gave us. …
Here’s another question to ask about the entire topic: Why doesn’t the father seem to have any say in the abortion? I’d understand if he just disappeared, but a lot of these guys are staying with the woman and being given no choice in the entire subject… That’s sick. The child is the mans offspring just as much as the mothers. That’s my opinion. |

hehe, because they can get up and go at a whim without suffering physical repercussions.

yes because a man would not know ahead of time if the woman wanted a child or not.....

hmm well i just think that this topuic will just go round in cricles. Its an interesting debat but annoying as both camps have really good cases though im pro abortion.

the topics that keep coming up are more and more debatable! unfortunatly this is a topic that i dont spend too much time on, but i know enough to believe in pro choice. note that just because i am pro choice does not mean im pro abortion, but i believe the burden and choice should be up to the mother.
there was a recent supreme court case that officially outlawed partial birth abortion (its when the mother goes into labor and when the head comes out they use scissors or a scalpel to open the head and pull its contents out so that the baby can be pulled out.) many believe that although this is a good riddance (even pro choice people), it still is very very unlikely that the supreme court will overturn roe v wade just because it was a court precedent. but who knows. pro choice for me. sorry people, you can go ahead and start calling me names -_- ill probably read the posts but doubt ill post here again. |
