this is why im a protestant

lol i just read it, they are sugar coating by saying that you still face purgatory and stuff but its still an indulgence nevertheless. This is why i DESPISE the catholic religion ( not the catholic people ) there are so many corruptions within the religion all throughout history, it shames the Christian name (a lot of their religious beliefs don't even come from the Bible and wasn't even mentioned from Jesus. Some religion based on Jesus's teachings huh)

Catholicism has been corupted by the world even when the bible says to not be of this world.

btw I vote this should be in the extended discussion before gay fags corrupt this thread

lol u read it...im too furious to read it...so
i didn't even bother...coz i myt destroy my laptop....
yeah i think catholism went over the line now...
why don't those ppl sell their golden rings n necklaces if they lack money.....
i think im converting....hmmm...??

trying going to your local prebytarian or lutheran church (a lot of protestant churches are similar, they just have different styles). They deal a lot more directly with the bible rather than having wierd laws like having to confess to your priests to gain forgivness ( the bible doesn't say anything about that and idk who would make something like that up)

i thought this was supposed to end with the protestant reformation?
like, a really really long time ago!

edit:
"You cannot buy one — the church outlawed the sale of indulgences in 1567 — but charitable contributions, combined with other acts, can help you earn one. There is a limit of one plenary indulgence per sinner per day."

lol. "charitable contributions"
hahaha

Aw come on, its just a little "indulgence" compared to the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the extermination of the Templars, the exploitation of the little boys... Dont blame the Pope so much.

Well, I am not a Christian but I know much about indulgences since I'm studying in a Christian private school.
We know that indulgences is bad. I mean, totally, your sins can't really be gone if you buy indulgences...
It's much better if they will just pray to God and ask for forgiveness and confess and hope not to make any sins
already rather than buying indulgences.

It's like we're back again to the olden times. The Protestant Reformation. Gosh, I bet the church officials were
really in a tight spot at that time.

I believe that the pope should excommunicate more American Catholics.

How can they Biblically justify indulgence? This makes me somewhat angry as it isn't Biblical and no man or priest has the authority to forgive sins, only Jesus can do that.

It is far better then "pray a little, and sin no more". Modern people feel only what hits their wallet, so maybe it is not so bad.
