TOTALLY AGREE W/ U!!!!!!

Ren is the best! He's smart, talented, compassionate, and need I say, HANDSOME!!! If only he was real...if only there was someone like that in real life in the near vicinity *sigh* that would be too incredible.

and Ren is so manly! he is mature, strong (physically and emotionally) and sensible, and everything a girl could ask for in a man.

and when Ren saves Kyoko from Reino at the hotel, that was soooo awesome!!! and then he comforts her! KYAAAA~

ok, now im just ranting....

Sho is just a spoiled teen who thinks he is better than what he really is. I dislike immature jerks too.

I rant too when it comes to Ren. I don't believe I ever saw such a male character in a manga, usually they are all selfish - thinking how to win over the girl and they occasionally molest her, and then if there are some consequences to their acts, they realize and deal with them afterwards. It's amazing how Ren considers everything, especially for Kyoko, and does the best he can with that. As we already know, he slipped a few times but that's only to be expected. He is only human. The slow pace of the manga annoys me sometimes but if I am to look at it in general, the slow pace is the very reason why this is one of the best mangas I read, despite the occasional cheesy and cliche moments, because their relationships really seem real and none of the feelings seem forced or unbelievable.

See? Ranting.

lol

I know what u mean! Usually, i feel annoyed by most cheesy moments, but I can actually deal with them here. I also love the thought and tact that Ren shows towards Kyoko. There were several chances for him to make a move on her, but he realizes that she's is still not ready and he is waiting for her That in itself shows the deep nature of his feelings towards her and its something that anyone would want to have in a relationship: the consideration of the other person's feelings.

btw, Yashiro is soo hilarious! I love how he's continually teasing Ren into getting into a relationship w/ Kyoko ^_^

I also would like for the manga to pick up its pace a bit, but I know that it is necessary for the story to remain believable and as great as it is right now. I usually dont read this type of manga (prefer action and battle), but I have to say that if they are all like Skip beat, then maybe i have been missing out!

A LOT of quoting we got here T_T

But yes, I agree - Ren is considerate and caring, and I love how he keeps himself under control. Sometimes we root for a kissing or more scene but we all understand that would give us only momentary pleasure and we would regret it soon enough.

Yashiro is an amazing manager who sees the whole situation in a less complicated way. The way he sees it, all that Ren has to do is confess to Kyoko, then give her time to process it and realize that she too is in love with him(because if he just lets her figure it out on her own she never will - not without a shocker) and then they would be a happy couple. Ren, however, considers it complicated because of their job, his past and their past together, as well as Kyoko's current state where she's working on her acting and improving her skills, Kyoko's feelings towards men in general(because of our "lovely" Shotaro) and their age difference(which I still don't quite understand - they are only 3-4 years apart).

As for shoujo manga, you haven't been missing out. Only on Nakamura sensei's work. Check out her "Tokyo Crazy Paradise" if you haven't already, and her oneshot "Dramatic Love Album" - both are fully scanlated. Other shoujo manga artists stick to cliches and are terribly annoying after a while.

If you want, I can give you a list of mangas that I thought were good(shoujo), since I have a list of all that I have read(about two pages in Word). They are not as good as this one but they are rather fun ^^ So let me know if you want it.

i dont understand the whole age gap thing either :- / thats pretty standard in most relationships. my bf is two yrs older than me, and we dont have any problems, so ??? i actually think that age is not a good way to gauge a person's maturity. its all in the mind :)

Wow, quoting, quoting and quoting. Hehe

I agree, but then again the Japanese society is shaped in a different way than the western society is, and I doubt we can really understand it. It's not only about maturity, although Kyoko is not mature yet since she's still working on herself(as she's supposed to since she's only 17).

Yes, shoujo manga - that's the term for this kind of manga, manga that focuses mostly on romances and is written for girls in their teens (mostly).

Sure, I'll make you a list and send it to you, no problem. Hope you do well on your exams

Simply put, Ren. Maybe because he's
or the fact when i read the manga, he's actually taken my breath away and my heart wants to beat out of my chest for this 2-dimension fictitious character. Can't wait to see the upcoming episodes, and probably would have more of an effect hearing his thoughts instead of reading it.

So anyway, Ren FTW :D . Shoutaro, please GTFO!
