There's a similar thread, like: Do you believe dreams have signs? or something. I at least say no

Dreams are a way to teach us lessons that are to dangerous to teach us in reality. We can still get the experience by dreaming it, but we don't get put into such danger. They can teach us to be well prepared, and to be cautious. =]

My dreams lately reflect on things, people, places, and events I've thought about during the daytime... and sometimes it's all that jumbled up and mixed with completely unrelated and new ideas which turns into plots I didn't think I could imagine. The locations vary, but I notice when 'home' is one the settings, it is almost always a mix of my first home, and the house I'm in now. Guess I still miss the townhouse, even though it's been about 8 years ^^; My friend thinks of my dreams as nightmares the way I describe them to her, but as I am usually jump from first person to the fly on the wall, I find them very interesting. I.E. In one of my last dreams I remember at once that I had had it before, but this time around was different... more violent, more dangerous, and real me got tense in alot of spots while in contrast dream me stayed rather calm in the tight spots (especially after jumping out the window backwards). I also find them interesting when Dream Me and real me are coming up with the same deductions -- in the dream above ^ Dream me and Real me were both troubled that the 'safe house' that was set up for me's entrance didn't glow purple like it did in the dream before -- something told Me-Me that that place wasn't as safe as I thought it to be and dream me was drawing the same conclusion towards the end. I dunno if she figured what to do in the dilemma of making the family leave there and stay (risking getting caught if the house WAS infiltrated), or have HER leave and getting caught 'out there' where everyone was looking for her.

The dreams that do sometimes scare me are the ones based on my deepest fears -- they always have deliberate mistakes in them, so real me should know they aren't real, but they do freak me out (I've stopped listening to the Kate Havnevik song 'Sleepless' ever since I fell asleep to it, had a HORRIBLE dream, woke up and spent the rest of the entire night sleepless - I know, go figure).

But yeah... rambling. I know my dreams are based on my thought process - conscious and unconscious

What if, what if, what if.

The purpose of dreaming and the meaning of dreams are two different things, of course. Science may one day answer the former, but the latter is entirely up to the individual. Interpretation is a subjective matter.

Personally, I have no theory because I don't have any data to form one. It would be no more than a guess, and I don't tend to bother with that kind of thinking.
