Maiden_aya wrote: I know what you're talking about, and I wouldn't honor them with the category josei. They're based on (the most horrible part) Harlequin romance novels that came out in like the 90s and early 2000s. They're just manga-ized. But the one manga I kind of regret reading was Deep Love, and then all its equally depressing sequels. It was a beautiful drawn series and wonderfully written but I didn't know it was possible to put so much angst and madness in such a short series. And even for people who don't like happy endings will be haunted years after reading it. I actually recommend it to people is the messed up part. Kind of a misery love company thing. Ahahaha, true enough :\ And the art is horrible too, really, those mangas have no good points at all I have also read Deep Love.... three of them, I think. It is disturbing and I cried my eyes out, but I couldn't stop reading, because all the time I was wishing the author would be generous and let them have a happy ending. It wasn't such a bad read, but for sensible people, I really don't recommend it. As you said, for a short series, it's very... emotional. One started it and the other one killed it. Anything with Vampires lately turns out to be a bad manga/ book |

I agree with this that someone said earlier:
a lot of Shoujo stuff. Basically anything where there's this one girl, and this total jerk dude who bosses everyone around, is a douche, but is "soooo handsome", and the girl falls for him even if he's a tool. Yeah. Do girls like those kinds of guys? I don't think I would if I were a chick. Whatever happened to empowered women anyways? I'm a guy, but I started to read shoujo a while ago, and then I ran into several of these stories about girls who seem to like being abused. The worst was "Hot Gimmick." No more shoujo for me. These stories were starting to make me think that women are all secret masochists. |

There was this one shoujo smut. I have no clue what the title was anymore. I don't normally read smut, but I was bored.
It was a short series about a female teacher who gets raped by one of her students (who's the little brother of her boyfriend), and then he tells her a sob story about how he was justified for doing it. And then she starts to fall in love with the boy, and then her bf finds out and makes her do humiliating things to prove that she still loves him. I thought there might be some redemptive ending (like the lady grows a spine and dumps these idiots), so I kept reading it. But NO. Is this meant t gratify some super-maschocistic girls who fantasize about rape? Bleh. And guess what? It even had a sequel. |

I've read a fair amount of bad mangas but Fairy Tail takes the cake. I was a huge One Piece fan at the time when I started reading it, and it...gave off One Piece vibes. So I kept reading it with the fleeting hope that it could get better, but I just gave up after a hundred or so chapters.
