I do think Japan needs to make a drama for Skip Beat. They tend to stick to the manga and the characters very well.
Usually with taiwanese/chinese, etc... they always feel the need to change a lot of things, which is annoying. They change even the names, and the setting which annoys me greatly, like in Meteor Garden, instead of being High School student they are college students... i mean even small things like that get changed. It's annoying as heck

I AGREE :D

I agree too. But it's normal that they change the names because is another country.

and i understand that. But why base something off of a japanese manga then if you're going to just change things anyways.
It's because they are like the US... they can't come up with anything original any more so they base things off of mangas now, I mean they have been doing that for ages now but it seems it's becoming more and more popular to do that.
I feel that the only ones who have total rights to do that are the japanese creators. At least we know simple things like names and setting won't be hard for them to get.

I resent that US remark. I mean US has just as much original and copied context as any other Country. Japan Copies American Cartoons just like American's Copy Japanese Horror films. I mean look at the Powerpuff Girls. Which is American. The Avatar, American. Looney Tunes, Fat Albert, Static Shock, Teen Titans, etc etc. Just because a lot of International American films seem to be copies or remakes from a foregin country doesn't mean they don't have A LOT of original Content. I can go on for ever about American orignal movies and cartoons. I happen to love good stories foreign and American. I know who copies from who. SO don't run off the mouth about people copying others. Japan copies American movies and stuff just as much. Don't be delusional.

i thought it might be interesting if they made the drama though. i wanted to compare it to the actual anime and manga. i do agree with everyone else when the said the pairing wasn't right and that japan should be the first to make it a drama. personally i think the japanese are great actors/ actresses because most of them can act to an extreme character like kyoko. in my opinion i think it would sound better if it was in japanese, mostly beacause it was originally from japan. i didnt care if the actors/ actresses were taiwanese as long as they spoke in japanese on camera. i think is just makes the series more like the actual manga/ anime. i would definitely watch the drama if japan made.

Actually, What I don't get is why are they filming it when the manga and anime isn't done yet? I mean the anime has only about 25 episodes that we the viewers know is airing... Also, the creator itself isn't done with the manga, so why make a film? Are they planning to do their own ending and twist it? But seriously, when I first heard it i wasn't too impressed. I was like, "why? why does everything have to be made as a drama? Can't it just be made into an anime.." I understand that the Taiwanese want to make it into a film because it's popular, but the thing is.... the whole story of Skip Beat isn't even done yet so why do it? Taiwan, best be holding your cameras cause the story ain't finish. oh and secondly, usually the japanese does a better job at mastering the skills of actors who can play the characters. No offense taiwan but you[company/director] need to find better actors or actresses who are able to play those parts... Don't just choose people who are famous, choose people who are skilled and closely related to play the parts of the characters. Choose your actors right. oh and another thing, don't drag the drama so long that it's soooo boring... please keep it simple and straight to the point.

I mean i do like watching their films but some people just can't play the part or even act most of the time.. So please Taiwan if you're going to film find suitable suitable actors. thanks!

First off I wasn't being delusional. Secondly, I never mentioned anime or cartoons. I know they both copy each other. Nothing is original on both parts. I merely was more stating towards things like Death Note, where movies have already been made but because they're not american they are being remade to be an american film. I resent the rude comments made by you to me. I was not picking ANY fights with you or anyone else. Say what you will, but that doesn't give you a right to be rude to me because of the opinions I expressed while bringing up things I did not mention. And I find that america does copy many foreign films, changing the characters and settings to make it more america. At least the bigger movies in america. I have just as much right to express that as I live in the american culture.. well more like Canada is in an american influence as it's quite a big country and our neighboring boarder.

HOW the Hell was i being rude, I was stating my facts. There are a lot of not cartoon remakes as well in Japan that are American. Mainly movies and short films, cause like I said American's don't really have dramas like Asian sense drama. I never said they American's didn't copy. I said they have Just as much original and COPIED context as any other Country.. Or you just reading what you want to read? I said that everyone copies and the stuff that are international is usually something that the international audience wants to see. Like the remakes. And no the bigger movies aren't the ones usually publicized internationally. Big movies in America are stuff like Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Montana, How Green Was My Valley, Color Purple, Madea, Green Mile, Forest Gump. All original to America through different time frames. Those are big Movies. So don't tried to act like you know what are consider big movies in America, THe remakes of Death Note and Juno aren't even that popular. Only in certain areas. So know what you are talking about. And I am pretty sure that I know more about American culture than you do, Seeing how I've lived in over half of its states. In different communities and cultures and races. Not only do have that vital experiences. It is also my major, which has a lot to do with sociology, ecology, and psychology along with international relations and communications, so when people spout ignorance it irritates me and I call them out on it. Me saying don't be delusional wasn't calling you delusional just telling you not to be that way. Now if you want to take offense then That just proves your ignorance and immaturity. I could care less.

Actually like some others said......i also wonder why make drama something that haven't finish yet!!
about the Japanese-chinese issue.....personaly........i find japanese language more "close" to me than chinese one...
anime are in japanese..i got used to this language and it's easier to my ear at least,so i couldn't enjoy the same if the language was in chinese.i don't know about the chinese actors if they were good or not i just wanted to write my point of view about this^^^
when i hear skip beat chinese drama....they were 2 thoughts......the language and that the anime and manga haven't finished yet^^
........that's what i jsut wanted to say

Haha, I am another person who is glad that they stopped. Mainly, I felt slightly depressed and upset abt this live drama.... cos i dun really support the casting, and i feel that they cant act really well. Also, perhaps it is the image that the main lead gives off. I felt that his character and Ren's character is way off, and i guess i am not too confident of his acting skills.

Sides, I think that the anime is too wonderful.. if they do a live cast, the entire feeling will be wrong. and then it would affect the goodness of the actual anime in my mind.

anyway, it IS a good thing that they are stopping it. I hope it stops forever.

I was kinda really looking forward to it..
But I kinda wish the cast was younger that's all...(new ppl)
Not gonna complain about Ariel and Jerry.
I do wanna see them act together, but just not for Skip Beat.

ok poeple i just found out on a chinese webset and it said they ve STOPPED filming it in 2008

The reason y they stopped:

ok,basiclly
when they just started filmin the drama for a week the public(fans of SB) complained about all sorts of stuff, like:they are not good enogh, the pairing is not good(kyoko and ren),they shouldnt make a anime into a drama before japan does.......etc
They havent decided weather they want to stop filming or change the casts
And i saw LOTS of people writing very harsh and bad stuff about it Image and yeah, they r rely not happy bout it......

so thats why they stopped,i personally think that its mainly becoz of the pairing and the fact that they shouldnt make a drama before japan does(coz japanes are better @ actting out a charactor wid a big personality-like kyoko, and ren's attitude)
hope that helped, but if they dont change the casts and start to film again i ll die from too much depression..................lol

P.S:Im NOT lying bout this i woldnt do something like that, and also im chinese so i can read my first languege!!!!!
i found it on :

people complain on:

reasons:

anyone whos chinese can prove im not lying

I think its a good thing coz i dont think it ll be as good as the anime ><

but i LOVE skip beat!!!

i hope it helped
