Oh wow, their are so many great Taiwanese drama's! For example "The Rose" is from a Japanese book and "It Started With A Kiss" is a 100x better than the Japanese one. Watch those and then say that it's not good. I think Ariel Lin is a great actress but personally I'd rather have Wu Chun act for Ren. Oh yeah, and it's Japan's own fault for taking forever to make a manga/anime or whatever into a drama. If Taiwan or Korea can get permission to make a drama then let them make it first. Just because it originated from Japan doesn't mean only the Japanese can make it into a drama.

Wu Chun=Great Ren

he look more of shou type, but i dont realli like how he act

I think it's a good thing they postponed the filming. The manga is not even complete yet, so there are some facts we are not clear yet (like the ending LOL) If they're making the drama, wont it spoil the manga? And with the popularity of the manga now, I doubt Skipbeat would have a chance to finish any soon (take example in the mangaka's previous work: Tokyo Paradise)

Plus, the pairing is off. Ariel Lin doesnt fit in the role, they need to choose an actress with a face more angular, probably the girls who always act the third party in the dramas lol, not the chubby face ones with huge eyes and thin lips. Unless Ariel know how to tone down her face, she can forget about becoming Kyoko. No matter how talented she is there is no way you can become one character if you dont look like one.

Jerry is OK I guess, just not good looking enough. Ren in my imagination is actually a bit mixed (well he IS mixed) In this case, I think Korea will do a better job at choosing one. I love Dennis Oh, he totally fits in Ren's role.

If there was a drama made, no matter what country did it, I would watch. I have to find out by watching if the drama will live up to the manga.

Wow, I can't believe a lot of you complaining about the pairing up and who is going to create it before who.
If you recall in the original Skip Beat manga, Kyoko is a girl scorn by love and enters the business for revenge, not because she wants to be a real actress so to say that Ariel Lin is not qualified shows a lack of faith in her as an actress. We won't know how well she plays the role until we ourselves see her do it. As for her looks being different from that of the anime or manga, that is pretty ridiculous as well. It's not the looks of the people we should be focused on, it's their acting and how well they represent the original story. Being from Taiwan and doing a Japanese manga before Japan does, I think it shows real courage and regardless of all this complaining, I would still be one of those eager people waiting every week for a new episode. I love Skip Beat, Manga and anime so even thought Taiwan announced this drama before Japan did, I was super excited! It’s because so many people complain in the first place that they’ve spoken on canceling this could be drama. Ah, I’m rally disappointed.
Oh, and regarding the fact that Skip Beat hasn't even been completed in manga form, I think that's fine. If they do decide to make this drama, they could very well do so in the order the anime had done and if the ratings go well, create another season.

I not too sure how i feel about this...I mean I love skip beat so I would be extremely pissed if they messed it up
BUT
.
.
.
Taiwanese people know what they're doing when it comes to films so...
But then again maybe they shouldn't make one before the japanese people do
But then if the Japanese aren't going to make it into a live action then why shouldn't anyone else, I mean it is a great story

I made an account here just so i could comment in this thread.

I don't see why anyone who has actually watched the drama (I don't mean the first episode or the first few minutes- I mean the whole thing) could say that they didn't stick to the manga. Not only did they practically follow the script line by line and scene by scene, but allot of the screenshots were the same- i'm talking PANEL BY PANEL. I'm not kidding. I think they did a wonderful job.

There were several minor changes- but i felt that allot of them were for the best (Like the names- They had to change the names because it was filmed in Taiwan. I didn't even notice the change in setting because it was so well done). And don't get me started on the actors. They were exactly what i hoped.

The director chose who they thought would act the character out the best, and they did. Just because the character's don't look 100% like they did in the manga doesn't mean they can't portray the character successfully.

I don't think they stopped producing the drama. I think they put it on hold (just like the anime) because there isn't enough to work with. The manga is still ongoing. I will continue to believe this until i find an official announcement that the series has be canceled.

And another thing- I found that the anime was by far worse than the drama (and yes, i watched it all the way through).

I'm not trying to flame, by the way. I'm just expressing my opinion.

And one more thing, sorry. XD

I love Taiwanese drama's! I watched Hana Kimi (Untill the 11th episode because my source stopped providing it) and LOVED it. I think that Taiwanese and Korean's (Like Boys over flowers) adaptations of manga are far better that Japanese ones. Though i will say i haven't seen the Japanese version of Hana Kimi, so i can't judge.

I was unsure of who they picked for Ren but then the more I watched it the ore I liked him as Ren. No he isn't exactly like the character in the anime and such BUT I thought his version of Ren was quite good imo & I LOVE Ivy Chen playing as Kyoko I thought she was perfect! Along with all the other actors and actresses! I honestly hope they continue making the Taiwanese drama seriously.
