Myth:
"All Martial Arts are from Asia."

FALSE

What about western martial arts like boxing, brasilian jiu jutsu, capoeira, fencing (not the way is done today as a sport, but when it was taught as a martial arts in Europe hundreds of years ago), dueling (yes, like in the old west)????

There's also that guy in China who is supposedly able to paralyze you with his chi without even touching you. Looks pretty fake to me, but who knows.

All I hear is that all Asians know some type of martial arts. Which is proven wrong from a friend. =.=; He never did climb that wall.

Kung Fu Panda didn't really help with that pinky trick. I mean by pinching it some sort of way dosen't make you disappear into dust. =.=

you must not be doing the wu shu pinky hold correctly

tell me all the stereotypes and myths you know about martial arts. I dont know to many. The few i do know deal with fighting and purpose of martial arts.

Like how no martial art helps you in a fight, or how all martial arts help you in a fight, or how there is only one/few surperior martial art(s).

also that martial arts are always trained for combative purposes.

These 4 myths are the only ones i know. tell me more

Edit- one more myth is that martial arts are only found in Asia or originated there.

It's all pose. The rest are just flailing in random. No lucky punch. Just random punch.

There's no such thing as lucky punch when you actually knock someone out.

Like what they say, "Even though you spend thousands upon thousands of dollars in karate class, in actual fight, you just end up resorting to pulling someone's hair off."
or
"everyone has a stance/plan till they got punch."
