So after watching The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi atleast 20 times, i decided to read Vol 3 / Season 2 manga and boy was it disappointing in a way. (In my view)

It started by Kyon, Haruhi, Yuki, Mikuru still hanging out as the SOS brigade than changes to a whole retell story. Everyone forgets each other and starts new. Kyon remembers Haruhi but isn't sure about it, some people say it was all another dimensional word of Haruhi's and its retelling the story again but as stated above, Kyon remembers abit of it.
Seriously, why would they do that? That just makes me feel even sadder. Yes, Kyon is the only one who notices the changes. I'd really like to see how its gonna end, maybe there's gonna be a season 3, maybe the ending might suck.

Though i think i just lost my thinking up there but rant with me about it. And yes, we know it'll be awesome..

I've seen episodes 1-4, and I really like what Kyo Ani is doing with the material. The repetition is probably going to gnaw on a lot of viewers, but the fact that they are dedicating so many episodes to the summer loop is awesome in my book. The first season was so popular, and Kyo Ani did so much hype for this season that I expected season 2 to be a sell out to the tastes of the masses. Instead, I think the series is taking a turn that is truer to the narrative than to the wants of most viewers.

Haruhi says it herself, that the only right way to enjoy summer is to get the tedium out of the way first. This could be a veiled promise that the ending will be worth riding out the repetition.

In addition, I was really caught off guard by how episode 2 suddenly turned from "filler" to a legitimate plot-moving episode. Episodes 2-4 are following the classical structure of theme and variation. Viewers with an inclination for classical music or who like analyzing anime more than necessary will probably be the minority that revels in these eps.

i appreciate the dedication but it really is frustrating to the point that I've found myself screaming at kyon at the end of each episode to finally end this arc. hopefully the ending is worth it.

when will Kyon figure that problem out? >.< It was getting exciting on the second one, but on the forth or fifth ones, i think it was getting abit too much. I hope he does Koizumi's suggestion, cuz I wanna see that. X3

It's like a two-week length version of Groundhog Day. except worse. XD
