Video games are not childish. The Game Culture course I took at college proves just that.

And besides, who gives a darn? No one should tell you what to enjoy. Maturity should be judged by your sense of responsibility, not by how you like to spend your free time.

Yes non players are missing out. I don't know how I would enjoy myself without games or anime.

I've been playing videogames since the creation of Atari and the MSX,so it's like gaming is part of my life now,it's my most favored entertainment besides anime and manga,I can't imagine my life without those three.but (as many others said in this thread) with time we begin to play little because we engage in other activities and matters not because we don't like it anymore.I remember one of my friends who engaged in teaching saying:I miss playing games for long hours
I'm also gonna engage in teaching by the end of this summer, but that doesn't mean that I'm gonna quit playing...never.

also, playing videogames isn't childish at all,I sometimes pick some puzzle and horror games and go play it with my sister-in-law who have already 4 children.

people differ in their interests, and so they shouldn't judge others according to their own.I don't like it when others tell me what to like and what's not,if anybody gonna keep tease me about this,I'm gonna leave to Japan!

I absolutely hate when people say that. usually its the people who are childish or ignorant themselves that say it in the first place. who are they to judge us. many of them have never plan a videogame in their life. it doesn't matter about the game either. i've plan kids next door (not that good) right before playing devil may cry 3.
anybody who goes around calling things childish without giving things a chance is childish themselves and should be ignored.

They are not childish at all in my opinion. I do play less than I used to though because of college and work. There are also fewer games that I am interseted in as well.

Never, the person who plays them maybe, but not the games themselves...unless they start jumping up to life and nag your apron while you try to cook (who knows it may happen XD)

My parents had the boys play vid games stereotype too, so I only got bits of other boy's gamboys, my uncle's playstation, and flash comp games when I was younger. I always yearned to have some of my own. Now that I have a brother, I get his leftovers. XP

well
games are great if you need something to pass time with
but i dont think games should be something that gets you addicted
i think it should be used in moderation and just when you're bored

Is watching tv childish? They both serve the purpose, to entertain people. Games are just bit more interactive.

Nonsense video games are for pure entertainment; just like TV, the internet, and so forth. So if being entertained is childish... i guess video games are childish ;[

I have a standing rule in my home...no cable, no gaming system...why, because they are addictive, and my children need me....look what happened when we got the internet..."mommy, I'm hungry..."..."here, have this crusty chunk of bread under the computer desk...now shoo!"

Age has little to do with it...
