If you could sum up the essense of God in one word...what would He be called? Majesty? Mighty Conquerer?
What about Jesus?
What about the Holy Spirit?

How do you see God? Do you see Him as your father? your best friend? your maker?
Think it through and answer. Maybe you'll be surprised about how wonderful and blessed each one of us is.

Yes that is defitnly a good word for him.
I see God as a father, someone to look up to and someoen to guide me.
I see Jesus as a best friend/brother.
The holy spirit. I don't think I;ve ever though of hi mas a person. More of an emotion or a day. Like the Holy Spirit is a cup of hot tea ona rainy day. Something good that makes you feel warm when things get bad. Hm,.....sounds kinda like Family. Yes that soudns godo the Holy Spirit is family.

There is so much that we can explain about God, but to do it in one word, probably impossible. However, the first word that comes to mind when I think of God is probably: Merciful.

I'm truly humbled to be shown such mercy as he has given me. Praise God Almighty!

Amen guys! God is definately impossible to describe in one word. I've actually been thinking upon this subject for a really long time.
First of all, the Holy Spirit is a person! Haha I used to think that He was just as spirit or a feeling, but you have to remember that the Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity! He is indeed God and has the same authority as God and Jesus. When you baptize someone, it is done in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Spirit! I know that this is like a Bible study but please read what God has taught me over the past years and put in my heart to share with you guys!

I've personally always thought of:

If you want to go ahead, read John 14 and John 16: 12-15. These chapters beautifully shows the relationship of the Trinity and will help you undertand what you need to know!

God the Father: LOVE!~

***Jesus referred to God as our Father(John 14:15). Before the time of Jesus, No one dared to call the most Holy God and King in such a friendly manner! We are very lucky to be given this opportunity.
***1st John 4:16--And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

The Holy Spirit our Helper/Counselor: Revealer of TRUTH and JUSTICE!~

***John14:16 says"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever." Isn't that amazing? In the Old Testament the Holy Spirit wasn't always on Earth with us mere humans. He only came when God the Father allowed his Spirit to rest in a certain place at one time. Once again, so many doors are opened to us just because Jesus came down to Earth. I could actually talk about the Holy Spirit forever but I won't since this thread would be freakishly long haha...
***John 14:17 goes on to say that "the Holy Spirit is a Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you." Once again God truly has blessed us. After Jesus came down to this world he actually resides(lives) in each one of our hearts. God is always with us. He will never leave us or forsake us. Now, I could go on about grieving the Holy Spirit but that's a totally other topic on its own!

Jesus Christ the Son, our Saviour: The only word I can think of is GRACE...
My testimony definately says "When I didn't deserve anything, He gave me everything." That is the truth that is too great for any words.
***Jesus, the Son of God. Is the rock on which Christianity stands. The one that brings healing to the sick and hope and peace to the weary and brokenhearted.
***Revelation 22:8 (The last verse in the Bible haha) says "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people" The love of Jesus is too great to even comprehend. We are sinners. We are the filth of this Earth, yet He chose us. Yet He wanted us with Him in eternity. He left all the glories of heaven. He took on the wretched form of a man and suffered and submitted to death just to save us. (Yes he had to allow death to take him) To put it clearly...We don't deserve the love that Jesus has shown us and we never will. His grace and his mercy have covered us and by the stripes on his back and the nails in his hands and feet, we are healed.

So I guess now the question is "What do we do with all this information?"...It's important to know where we stand in line with who God is because so many of us take the love of God and the victory he has given us for granted. Some of us haven't even thought on this subject before! Matthew 22:14 says For many are invited, but few are chosen." We have the good news that soooo many other people don't have and it's our duty to share it with them. Our job on Earth is to produce fruit and share it with others(telling others about Jesus and representing His light in this dark and broken world.) Don't take your role on this Earth for granted. GOD CHOSE YOU. YOU were put on different parts of this Earth for a REASON, a PURPOSE. Be the salt and the light, show others the Love of Christ.

There is so much more to say but I think that this is enough for one day haha...I'll probably put more on here another time! Hope you all were blessed! =)

ONe word? I don't think I can do that... He's too good for that... He's like my Dad when mine is not here (But He's always my Dad too.), He's like my best friend too. Sometimes, I wish that I could marry him. He's the only perfect man for every girl. >////< I know it's silly, but who wouldn't want a loving, perfect, kind, loving, unchangeable, always dependable man as her husband? I always know that he''s with me when the thunderclaps, when I feel like the world is crushing me, and when I stare out into nature and listen to music that heals the heart... I love Him. As a father, best friend, and God.

I know this has been said a million times, but, well, I've searched the Scriptures (which is not AT ALL to say that I've memorized or completely understand the whole book), listened to sermon after sermon, and gone to numerous bible studies, and what I've learned is this: there aren't enough words in any language to describe God. How, then can we describe our Lord in just one word?

Though for the sake of staying on topic, if I had to pick one word, I'd have to say that above all else, God is holy. The reason I say holy is because this is one of the main qualities that God actually stresses about Himself. And not just the Father, but the Son and the Holy Spirit as well, each of which is just as much God as the other two.

Example 1: The Holy Spirit - I mean, seriously. The word "holy" is in His name.

Example 2 - It's what God calls us to be, over and over again. Holy, as He is holy (Leviticus 11:44;19:2;20:7; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:16).

Example 3 - In Ezekiel 36:22-23, God talks about how He punished Israel because they blasphemed His holy name. "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: it is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of My holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone. I will show the holiness of My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I show myself holy through you before their eyes."

Example 4 - God is so holy and glorious that He has to turn His eyes away from His own glory just to look down at us. Psalm 113:4-6 says that He humbles Himself to behold the things that are in heaven and earth.

I'm not trying to give some kind of fire and brimstone rant here by emphasizing God's holiness, but one of the things that really helps us show God the respect, honor, obedience, and glory He deserves is by realizing (or trying to do so with our puny, limited human minds) just how holy He truly is and then, remembering that a God that is so holy our minds would probably burst from trying to fully comprehend the concept STILL sent His Son to die for us and the Holy Spirit to inhabit our hearts.

Yeah dude that's the point! No one word can describe our Holy Father but everyone identifies him in different ways...
It's interesting to see how we all see our God and how he speaks to each one of us! You should read my long post to understand my views~ For example you emphasize God's holiness because that's how He speaks to you and how you view Him. Amen! This is just a post to get people thinking more about what God means to them =) .
