Back to the past:

Six thousand years. To think that he had been holding on to the marriage for a whole six thousand years. Vlad shook his head, not on purpose. Unbelievable, truly unbelievable. Especially if the fact that he was once a womanizer is taken into consideration. He was still a womanizer even now, but those once-out-of-hand “hobby” had slowed down as soon as he married Elizabeth. That happened when he was only a 25-years-old youth. He had had to cope with Elizabeth’s queer way of loving ever since then. Vlad was truly surprised to find he had actually managed to remain sane. He let out a long, tired sigh.

“Your Highness, we are here.” Syameer, his Right Commander of the Palace said in a respectable tone seconds after the carriage he was in came to a stop. Syameer was one of his most trustworthy men. His duties, besides being a commander in time of war, included being his personal bodyguard, his personal messenger and the keeper to almost all of his secrets. Though younger, Syameer was calmer and reliable, not to mention, cheerful and easy-going. On top of that, he was a master in the art of weaponry. And a married man. Vlad furrowed his brows as he heard Syameer snickering at an annoyed female voice. “Oh, come on! Lilith! Don’t be angry!” he heard him say. Vlad grinned when he heard Syameer reciting a few lines from a famous love poetry in their literature to his lovely wife Lilith, a daughter to one of the noble man in the kingdom. He quickly stepped out of the carriage unnoticed. “Ahh...love is in the air...I’m jealous...,” he sighed and shook his head, teasing the couple. Lilith blushed, and bowed low. “Please, Your Highness. Do not let his foolish wooing disturb your peaceful day,” said Lilith seriously. “What are you saying? I wasn’t disturbed at all. Go on, spread more love around, ufufufu...,” he chuckled as he left the grinning Syameer and his wife to themselves. Lilith blushed even more furiously and elbowed her husband on his stomach. “I’m going to prepare lunch!” she announced, irritated and stomped her way away from her snickering husband. A group of ladies scurried to their feet to follow her.

A little while later, Vlad and a group consisted of his bodyguards, a few high-ranking nobles and some relatives from the Rilles and Bathory families were away from the camp site, hunting for edible animals, whilst most of the ladies including Lilith stayed back. The breeze blew softly, cooling exposed skins and voices of nature filled the surrounding. Perhaps these were the reason of the unawareness; that those moments were the starting point where the monarch’s history and the whole vampire’s hierarchy started to slither out of place, no one noticed, not even the slightest bit.

Without warning, neither from the cooling breeze nor the voices of nature which accompanied the hunting group before, a silver fox suddenly revealed itself to the group, darting across their path. Armand de Rilles, Vlad’s second cousin was the one who steered the group’s attention towards the fox. “Good Lord! What a beautiful creature! I’m giving that to my son!” he had shouted and manoeuvred his horse’s stride towards where the fox had gone to. Soon, everyone in the group had claimed the right over the fox, which obviously belongs to Mother Nature. Even Vlad, who thought the silver fur would look good on his favourite chair and Syameer, who thought Lilith would love to have the adorable fox in their home. So off they went, searching for the poor fox.

Soon, one of them, Vlad that was, managed to shoot a sleeping bullet through the fox’s left hind leg. It limped towards a glade, and lay there helplessly, for it had given up itself to Fate. They started to cheer as their horses galloped closer to where the poor creature was lying. But then, the cheering turned to panic shouting and furious, confused yelling. “Turn back! We’re ambushed! Turn back!” Syameer yelled, trying his best to control his terrified mare. Hundreds of arrows rained over them. Some of the nobles build up shields to protect the group. “Protect the King!”shouted someone. “Oh, come on! I’m fine just being by myself. What a noisy bunch of people...,” muttered Vlad in his stallion’s ear when he was supposed to calm it down. “I don’t think they will know I’m the ruler of the kingdom if it’s not because you arses are shouting about protecting the king, really...,” he grumbled, steering his stallion back to where they came from. They were already halfway back to the camp site when he suddenly remembered the fox, and was determined to get it one way or another and made his stallion to turn back again. He was followed by a furious Syameer, who was calling for him and asking him to get to the camp site immediately. “It’s just a fox!” shouted Syameer. “A silver fox, you mean. Tell me, where can you get one like that?” Vlad had shouted back. “Even so, Your Highness! It’s too dangerous!” bellowed Syameer. “I’ll let you have half of its fur, though I doubt we can do anything with half of its fur compared to having its whole fur,” said Vlad thoughtfully as he rode the speeding horse. “That isn’t the point!!” bellowed his loyal commander. “Of course it is,” answered Vlad, smirking. “Your High-NESS!!!” screamed Syameer. Vlad’s merry laughter soon echoed in the air.

Suddenly, everything fell into silence. They had arrived back to the location of the earlier scene, and Vlad had put his guard up again. He had stop laughing and was scanning the area carefully. No trace of the silver fox could be found. “It’s not here. Let us just go back,” whispered Syameer. “No.” answered Vlad. “Your Highness-,” Syameer started but was hushed down by his carefree, stubborn king. “Listen!” Vlad whispered urgently. Syameer obeyed. His ears caught a faint whimpering sound coming from the nearby bushes. He turned to look at his king and was shocked to find him gone. He jumped when he heard a scream coming from the bushes. “Got you! Now hand me that fox!” Vlad commanded harshly, gripping on a female. “I said no! Sho belong to me!” answered the struggling female. Her voice was soft, and had a melodious sound in it. “Who the heck is Sho?” demanded Vlad. “It’s the fox, you idiot! Let go of me! How dare you touch a lady without her consent?” cried the member of the Eve’s species. Her last sentence made Vlad to let her go. He was a womanizer, yes, but he respects them. She quickly distanced herself from the vampire king, almost lost her balance in doing so, and turned to look at him straight in the eyes. Only then Syameer saw that the silver fox was being hugged close to her bosom.

Vlad, in the meantime, was in pure shock. Her beauty mesmerized him. She had soft, smooth skin, with a honey-toned complexion. Her black, starry eyes penetrated deep into him, touching something inside him and it sent a somewhat painful feeling to him. His gaze flicked on her silky, flowing black hair, just for a short moment, but enough to make him feel a longing to run his fingers through every single thread of that beautiful blackness. “You are an animal! How could you hurt something as defenceless as Sho? Have you no morale?” she snapped angrily. And she looked hauntingly beautiful wearing that expression on her face. “Uhh...umm...well...,” murmured Vlad, staring at her long, beautifully made-in-Heaven fingers. He was already wishing that he was Sho, the lucky silver fox. It looked so peaceful, being hugged like that. Vlad wondered if it was a male.

“What?” asked the young lady, and gaped at him. Vlad stared. “What what?” he questioned. “You asked if Sho’s a male,” The silent Syameer suddenly said aloud. “I did? Oh. Oh! Well, yes. I did. Is Sho a male?” he asked, trying hard not to stare at her rosy, full, gaping lips. “That’s the point! It’s not! It’s a female and it just bore our family three cute cubs! Why did you ask anyway?” she demanded. I think you’re gorgeous. “Wh-what...? Y-you don’t have to say it so loudly. It e-echoes here, you know?” she suddenly stammered the words. “Huh?” asked Vlad, confused. Syameer was snickering without reason. “A-anyway! You shouldn’t hunt animals when you feel like it. They’re living things, you know? They have feelings too...,” What’s your name? “Uhh...umm...I-It’s Jamilah,” Curiously enough, her voice had changed into mere whispers. “Jamilah? Your name is Jamilah?” asked Vlad. “I’m going home! You must remember not to hunt animals anymore!” she said and ran off. Vlad stood there. “Syameer.” He said slowly. “Yes, Your Highness?” Syameer came closer. “I’m feeling very strange.” said Vlad. Syameer looked at him, and was speechless to see the kind of face his king was making.

Kalene stood slowly, feeling hollow and light. Her head hung as she staggered into the city. Dawn was approaching and citizens were starting to stir in their homes. Serillion stayed behind in silent vigil over his lost companion. Something was in the city. Kalene could feel it. It drew her in like a hooked fish.
She wearily walked across the cobble stone street and headed down the smooth sidewalk, curiosity perking her up. She looked around, tiredness dulling her senses. Something felt different inside her. Like the darkness within her was finally quenched and turned into something else.
She watched the shadows stretch away from the golden light striking out across the street and up the tall, stone buildings. Kalene felt the warmth of the new day on her back, and she couldn't deny the optimism that quenched her grief and fury. She would go back to those dhampirs in the forest and make sure they were alright and help rebuild their camp and find that girl who had killed her brother when she'd found out what was drawing her in.
She stopped at a wooden door, cracked with age, but still sturdy. She grasped the rusted, golden handle and turned it slowly. The metal squealed softly and Kalene pushed open the door, it too making a soft protest. Kalene peered in, her eyes wide and searching the dark room. The cool morning light poured in and lit up only a portion of the room.
"Hello?" Kalene called out.
The magnetic pull was stronger and irresistible. Her senses screamed it was here. That she was so close. It was just up the stairs... Kalene stepped into the room, taking light steps so that the wooden floor should not give her presence away. She grabbed the rail of the wooden staircase and stepped up on the first dusty red carpeted stair.
Soon she was standing in a hallway. Though it was dark, her night vision was perfect. She passed three doors on either side before coming to a stop by an open room. She peered inside to see a bed whose inhabitant was covered with a purple blanket. The chest rose and fell with each rasping breath and the mouth was stretched wide. The face was old and wrinkled with age, that which proved the being to be an old human. The white fluff on the head gave Kalene the sense that the old person was a woman.
Kalene cocked her head slowly as the woman started to wake. Was this what she was drawn to? There had to be some kind of mistake. How and why could she be led to an old woman... old enough to be her great grandmother?
The woman sat up, pushing back the covers. She opened her eyes to reveal brilliant green eyes and heaved herself out of bed with a soft humph. She made her bed back up and leaned on the bed while she made her way around it in her ghost white gown.
She looked up at Kalene. Her eyes were not startled, nor angry at her intrusion. In fact, they were soft and welcoming, and her thin lips stretched into a smile.
Kalene was transfixed, staring into the brilliant green eyes. A memory was pushing its way into her mind, but she couldn't see it clearly. She couldn't make sense of it. She felt warm and happy for some reason, and like she'd known this old woman for years. She had a sense of close kinship to her that Kalene couldn't explain to her confused mind trying to make sense of it.
"Oh my..." the old woman breathed in awe. "My, you are beautiful, Kalene. Just like your father. Oh yes... You look just like your wonderful father. Come now. We have much to discuss. I understand that Tristen was just lost?"

Lilith and her daughter Maria welcomed him into the palace as soon as his homecoming was announced. His step-cousin Edward was already waiting for him in his study. Edward bowed low as he stepped inside his study, listening to the creaking of the door until it completely stopped with a faint sound of wood meeting together. He spontaneously sat upright. “Wow, my neck hurts,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck. Reza eyed him from the corner of his eyes. “You hypocrite bastard,” mumbled Reza. Edward’s lips cracked into a smile. “You know me,” he responded. Reza ignored him and took his seat behind his desk. “You look awful, dearest cousin.” Edward said, watching him. “Shut up.” answered Reza, taking a report from piles of reports in front of him. “How was the States Federation?” Edward asked finally after a moment of watching the dhampir king in silence. “Peaceful.” answered Reza shortly. “How was Kyle Teef?” Edward asked again. Reza’s quills stopped moving. He stared at the papers in his hands. “Pretty daughter, good-looking son. Though both are hot-tempered, just like the father.” He finally answered. “Your Highness, did you go and meet him?” questioned Edward. Reza looked up. “You should’ve known the answer by now, shouldn’t you?” questioned he dryly. “Your Highness...,” sighed Edward.

“Is this really alright? I thought you wanted to warn him about his awakening,” said Edward. The man in the chair stared at him, expressionless. “And what do you think he can do to help? He’s having enough trouble with the Mytlons,” answered that man, and resumed working. That ticked Edward off. “If you know that, then why won’t you help? Our defence line is strong enough!” he said, raising his voice.

“Our policy is to never interfere with other countries’ affairs. You know that yourself.”
“But he’s your friend!”
“Is he? He don’t even know I’m alive,”
“That’s why, why the hell didn’t you go and meet him?!!”

Glasses in the study shattered into pieces. “You talked way too much, did you realize that?” Reza said in a low voice, his eyes hard and cruel. Edward gulped. “Kyle Teef is a good person. He was a cute young man with cute, hot temper and I enjoyed his company, even when I had it only for a short while. He didn’t know a single thing about me, and I prefer to keep it that way. Moreover,” Reza’s voice turned gentle. “this is my mess. I should take care of this myself.”

Edward watched him with worried eyes. “Even if you say that, you know you can’t, cousin. You’re losing your strength. Ever since she died..., it’s already amazing that you can keep your sanity after all these years,” he said slowly. “Let me be Edward.” said Reza tiredly.

yuzuki sat Ryuu's back in a clearing not far from where Reza was swinging her legs back and forth. "Ryuu, do you think I should go somewhere else" ask Yuzuki. --maybe-- Yuzuki sighed and looked up at the sky. it was sunny with no clouds insight. Yuzuki smiled as she closed her eyes thinking. she wondered if she would be able to stay like this or if something will happen.

Kalene and Eonna stood together at their brother's grave.
"I'm really gonna leave this time," Kalene whispered as the wind pressed against her.
Eonna gave her a sharp look, "You can't leave."
Kalene looked at her half sister, "I can't stay here any longer."
Kalene had discovered this halfling as her half sister 20 years ago. She was released from the secret organization she'd been forced to work for and together they'd brought it down. They'd live with the old woman, a great-aunt and good friend of their father's, until she breathed her last. Kalene and Eonna had protected and loved each other ever sense then, exchanging stories of the past. Now they stood side by side at the graves of their great-aunt and brother.
"I'll carry you with me..." Kalene whispered to her lost twin.
With her great-aunt's help, she'd uncovered the secrets surrounding her and her brother's birth. Supposedly, they were born from a minister's daughter who had committed adultry. Once her husband claimed them not his, the babies were taken far away. Their father, one of the high vampire council members, lost ties with them. Years later, he found his soulmate, Eonna's mother, and made an effort to keep up with her. Though not in person.
"Please, Kalene... Don't leave," Eonna pleaded.
Eonna wanted to stay in the kingdom, close to her father and have it where her mother came ever so often. She would never leave unless her father did.
Kalene shook her head, "Goodbye, Eonna, my sister."
Eonna watched her drift away into the mist, gazing broken-heartedly after her, even when the mist had swallowed her up. Eonna squeezed her eyes shut, holding in a sob. Would she ever see her dear sister again? Eonna knew that Kalene had not been right sense her brother's death, and accepting her as a sister had been hard, as well as loving and caring for her. But in 20 years, they'd made it through together and now she was leaving. Eonna would never understand the bond between twins and the lonliness Kalene will always feel. Nothing Eonna could do would ever make Kalene go back to herself again. Kalene was lost... that's all there was to it.
Eonna crouched at Dante's grave by Tristen's. She touched the tulips that grew there, lightly. He always loved tulips. So Eonna planted them there.
"I feel so alone without you here," Eonna said. "I thought that maybe Kalene wouldn't leave me... But in a way I always knew."

Maria pushed the Royal Chamber’s door open and stepped inside, closing the door as slowly as she could. She approached the bed and gazed at the man sleeping on it. Her eyes caressed his silky black hair, his soft lips and rested on his neck, which was exposed because his white shirt was not fully buttoned together. She gulped, guilt attacking her. To long for the King’s blood is a forbidden feeling. Yet she had felt it since their first reunion twenty years ago, when he appeared together with her mother, and that woman. No. That was not even it. She had felt it since her mother first brought her into the underground chamber, where she first saw the beautiful black-eyed boy who later became their King.

“What are you doing here?” a hoarse voice asked. Maria looked at the man, shocked. She blushed when their eyes met. Did he notice? Did he notice her gaze on him? Did he notice her sinful feeling? The questions were left unanswered as she caught him from falling off the bed as he tried to sit up. As her hands touched him, she felt how hot his skin was. “Your Highness, you idiot. Why did you have to be so childish? Ribut told me, how you were teasing your friends’ children. (she can talk to animals) And after disappearing for three days without carrying a single supply, too. Now look at what you’ve done. You can’t attend the meeting today, not when your temperature is so high,” Maria settled the feverish man back onto the bed. “You’re really like your mother, Maria. Please spare me the lectures today.” whispered Reza. He put his right arm on his burning forehead. Maria watched him and held back the urge to kiss him. Instead, she pulled away his arm, and felt his forehead. At least, he never mind her touching him. Ever since the tragic incident, when he killed that woman with his own hands, he had been cold to women. He would treat them in the most gentlemanly way, until they showed their interests in having a deeper relationship with him. If only a woman other than her mother Lilith, and she herself tries to touch him, he could turn hostile and vicious, just like what happened two years after that woman’s death. That was why, Maria thought she should never wish for more.

Maria took a towel from a basin filled with water, she had brought that into the chamber once a maid told her about Reza’s condition. She squeezed the water out of it, leaving it damp and wiped his face with it. She continued to wipe his face, but when she reached his neck, again she shivered with the same longing. Thinking what a bad person she was being, she diverted her eyes away while wiping his neck. Reza watched Maria for a moment, sensing her nervousness and decided to take the towel away from her. Maria looked up in surprise. “I’ll do it myself,” said Reza. Maria did not answer. She let Reza wiped his neck, watching in silence and looked away when he unbuttoned his shirt to wipe his body. Maria stood up and started to arrange some things around the Royal Chamber. She caught sight of a small bottle containing crystal-like liquid. Picking it up, she turned to look at Reza, who was already lying back on the bed. “Your Highness...you didn’t even touch this, did you?” she asked. Reza took a glance at the bottle and looked away again. “I hate that stuff.” He said. “But Your Highness! You need to drink this to retain your strength! How long have you been skipping your intake?” demanded Maria. “That thing tastes nastier than everything nasty I’ve ever tasted! How can you even imagine me drinking that three times every single day? I don’t want it.” Reza said stubbornly. “Why do you have to be so stubborn? This is the only thing that’s been keeping you alive! You have to drink this!” the blonde-haired vampire cried. “I said I don’t want it!” said Reza, raising his voice. “You moron! Are you trying to commit suicide?! Do you want to die with her that much?!!” cried Maria. She then gasped and covered her mouth. “I’m-I’m terribly sorry. I didn’t- I’m sorry...,” she croaked, looking at the expression Reza was showing. Reza stared at the mattress and let out a shaky laughter. “What...what are you saying? Of course not, I never loved her...Never..,” he said. That’s right. He did not love her. It was a symbiosical relationship. They gained from each other. He was not supposed to fall in love with her, and neither should she. But she did. She did. And he did too. What a sad fact, a fact he would never admit.

“You should leave. You’ve done enough. I’ll drink that thing later.” Reza said wearily, his right arm covering half of his face. Maria stood there, half-torn. “Your Highness...,” she started. “Leave.” ordered Reza. “Your Highness...If you-if you hate it that much...would you take my blood instead?” the words escaped Maria’s lips in mere whispers, but Reza heard it or he would not looked up so drastically. He stared sharply at her. “Leave.” And with that, Maria swallowed her tears and walked out of the Royal Chamber.

"I don't know!" Eonna yelled back, frustrated.
"You're telling me she didn't tell you where she was going?" Father asked icily.
Eonna looked at him, exhausted and exasperated, "She didn't tell me! She's been gone for a week already. She was bound to leave at some point. Don't tell me you weren't aware of that!"
He looked away, "It had been so long... Twenty years isn't enough for me... I need to see her again. I need to keep ties with her."
Eonna looked at him disbelievingly, "But you have work!"
He rounded on her so quickly, Eonna fell back, "I'll resign if they won't accept my absense!"
Eonna stared up at him, eyes wide with bewilderment. He'd of never done that for her or his soulmate. But he'd do for Kalene? A fresh emotion of jealousy and hatred welled inside her. She'd known her father all her life. What made this halfling so damn special... so much better than her?
Eonna stood, "I'm coming with you."
"I don't care what you do, Eonna."
He sounded tired and like all his long years and pain had caught with him. Eonna was just left hanging on his last remaining words. Crestfallen and overwhelmed.
"It's okay, dear," came a soft voice behind her. "The twins have always been very important to him and he never forgot them nor their mother for a single bloody second. He didn't even know if the twins were still alive. But I remained faithful and loyal to him even though he still visited their mother."
Tears welled up in Eonna's eyes as she turned to her mother, "I don't understand..."
Her mother looked at her sadly, "How could you? It took me forever to understand him. And even now he's still an enigma to me."

Takeshi began to ask Suzu questions, like why did you come here and how come your alone. Suzu sighed and turned and looked at him and said "I don't know." Takeshi wouldn't take that as an answer so he kept on asking which made Suzu annoyed. "Stop" yelled Suzu. Takeshi stared at Suzu with wide eyes. he didn't say anything for awhile. Suzu looked down. she knew she couldn't hide her eyes with her hair anymore. Takeshi came up to Suzu and grabbed her face and made her look at him, Suzu tried to pull away but he was too strong, she knew he was vampire. "let go" said Suzu in a dangerous voice. Takeshi shook his head and said "no". Suzu stared at him with semi wide eyes. " I said let me go" said Suzu. Takeshi didn't listen to her. why thought Suzu.

Echoing footsteps from the hallway caught his attention, and he waited for the owner to appear as the footsteps grew clearer. True enough, the door to his study was flung open and a young man showed himself, sweating profusely and breathing hard. “Your Highness! Pardon...pardon my in..intrusion...,” he said with difficulties, half-wheezing as he dropped to his knees. Reza gazed at him, and resumed drinking the crystal-like potion. It tasted terrible, but he did not flinch a single bit. He looked at the bottle in his hand. “Calm down. Take a breath first.” He said, scrutinizing it like it was his first time seeing it. The young man swallowed hard, and after some time, he gradually regained his normal breathing. “Now, what is it again?” asked the king casually. “Your Highness, a war had broken out in Losho. It's done under the Gilgai'a's Empire.” answered the young man with a tone of urgency. Reza looked at him, and sighed. “I see. How far are they from our border?” he enquired. “At this rate, there’s a big possibility that they will arrive at the great threshold in two days time, Your Highness.” answered the young man. “Is that so? Very well then. Gather all the Councils at once,” said Reza, putting the bottle down on his desk without making a sound. The young man lowered his head and got up, then he hurriedly left his king to his own. Reza stared past the bottle, wondering how is Kyle reacting to the latest news considering that the President of The States Federation was having a tough time handling the Mytlon’s case. He suddenly smirked. “That Esil...Was he trying to get that hard-headed Kyle and me together?” he said, realizing that if Esil were to continue his conquest further in Sadoyus and end up dragging KOM in the war, that would be quite an opportunity for The States Federation and his empire to form an alliance. “I wonder, I wonder, can’t the reunion be stopped after all?” he sang as he walked out the room, his chuckles lingering at the door even after the last trace of him had vanished.

People of noble bred were pouring through the door, each and every one of them a Council of The House. They were at first so busy discussing about the emergency meeting they were called upon, but immediately fell silence as they looked towards the one jewel-embedded great chair situated at such a place it was facing straight to the entrance of the hall. All of them automatically dropped to their knees, their heads lowered so low their faces almost touched the floor. “Pardon us for keeping you, Your Highness!” said one of the Higher Council, a de Rilles, in a panicky voice. It turned out that Reza was there even before everyone else but Lilith and Edward had arrived to the hall. “Please stop sniffing the floor...just get to your seats...,” answered Reza boredly. Lilith coughed once whilst Edward sneezed and cleared his throat a few times. The Councils hurried to their seats and sat up straight until their backbones ached. Soon, the hall was once again filled with the buzzing noise of The Councils talking at the same time.

“Losho is situated on the south-east of The Great Threshold. No matter how we look at it, King Esil’s force would have to pass through The Great Threshold and exit through the passage in The Black Mountain to reach the centre of Sadoyus. He would never choose to use the route in Valley of Ajjal, it would be suicide for his armies. He has with him war elephants and cannons.” One of the Generals pointed out. “The best option for him is to break through our guard post. Has he lost his mind?” another General said, sounding annoyed and bewildered at the same time. “We do have another option though. We let King Esil and his armies pass through. Open the Great Threshold and The Black Mountain for him. It’s none of our business anyway.” A man with blue right iris and grey left iris cut in suddenly. The Councils threw a fleeting look Reza’s way, and exchanged glances and signals with each other. Reza watched them, his face stated the absence of any emotions. “Well, we always do our best to avoid war, unless it couldn’t be helped. That has always been our first priority ever since His Highness kind reign started,” added the man with the odd irises’ colour. “Really?” Their heads were spontaneously turned Reza’s way without them being able to stop it. “Your Highness....?” a Council said, unsure.

“By letting them pass, that would force the States Federation’s armies to react, don’t you think? I’m quite sure Mr. Teef, the good President had already sent orders to General Akbar of Sadoyus to be prepared for battle. Has it ever crossed your mind that SF might take revenge on us for letting them pass?” asked Reza coldly. “He should understand that we have nothing to do with any of his crisis and we’re trying to protect our people.” Answered the man. “Moreover, I’m sure the SF won’t be able to stand for too long now. The Mytlans will reach Azuriya the latest by tonight. They’re in short, done for.” He continued. Reza was now focusing on him. “Even if they survived this war, the wound will surely be a deep one. It would take SF years of hard work to recover from the blow again.” Lilith suddenly spoke up. “You enjoyed his company, didn’t you? Your Highness...,” said Lilith in a somewhat bitter tone. Reza was silent. “What is your decision, cousin?” Edward asked in a voice only Reza could hear. Reza let out a heavy sigh. “Twenty years. He used twenty years to build SF and he formed alliances with most of the surrounding kingdom, but he missed MY kingdom. He f**king missed my kingdom! Can you believe that?? You want to know my decision? Fine! Half a day, that’s how long I’m going to give him. If he still don’t f**king send any f**king messenger to KOM and ask for our f**king co-operation in this war, we’ll open the threshold for Esil! And THAT’S FINAL! Dismissed!” Reza stood up and made his way through the hall’s entrance, leaving behind his overwhelmed men. Lilith and Edward exchanged looks and groaned.

"just my luck" muttered Suzu with a sigh. Takeshi smiled and looked up at the tree. "miss Suzu come down please" sang Takeshi. Suzu paled alittle. "just go away or else" shouted Suzu. Takeshi laughed and said "or else what". Suzu jumped down and pointed one of her arrows at him and said "leave me alone". she hoped she would made aloud commontion outside for someone to hear. Takeshi just smiled. "aren't we friends miss Suzu" asked Takeshi. Suzu didn't know anymore.

“Are you sure about this?” asked Edward. “About what?” Lilith asked back, putting on her hat. Edward sighed. “What if he finds out?” he asked, scratching his head. “Well, too bad then.” answered Lilith. “You....You’re ill-using his unconditionally love for you, aren’t you? You know he wouldn’t do anything even if you kill him, because he loves you like a son loves his mother,” said Edward. Lilith rearranged the veil covering her face once more and turned around to face Edward. “I’m doing this for him. I promised Lady Jamilah. And I’m going to keep my promise, even if it’s with my dying breath.” said Lilith firmly. She started to walk towards the door. “Are you with me or are you not?” asked this lady, her face determined. Edward sighed, again. “Of course I am.” He murmured.

Reza watched the two dark silhouettes sneaked out of the palace’s gate from his windows. He knew who they were. He knew their intentions. He put a hand on his forehead. “Lilith, why, you...,” he muttered. Then, a smile appeared on his handsome face. Of course. Lilith knew that even if she does not do what she was doing now, he will do it himself. He put a finger close to his mouth, and bit into it, drawing blood. The blood dripped, and before it reach the cold cement, turned into a single deep red butterfly. “Go. See that she’ll reach that dumb president safely.” He ordered, and the butterfly rose higher until it found an opening in the Royal Chamber, and flew out.
