I think you would. It's... complicated, and I don't want to go on for seven million paragraphs, but I think you would lose them.

It is tough to say. It depends greatly on the desire and the reasons for the desire. Unlike what some have said a persons specific desires are NOT decided at birth. To an extent certain features may be more or less likely due to genetics, but not ultimately decided. Many psycologists and scientists have moved to a "science based" believe in a genetic fate, but I don't buy it for a second. Let's start with the example of drugs, though. It is not decided from birth, or even from the persons environment, that they will develop a drug addiction, except in cases where thier parents were taking drugs before they were born or if someone, somehow, physically forced them to take drugs. However, if they had already developed an addiction to drugs and thus a desire to take them, before they lost their memory, then they would likely not lose that desire, because drugs are a chemical and their body would still crave that chemical. The same is true to an extent with sexual desire. If a person lost their memory, they may very well not lose thier sexual desire, though they could. Sexual orientation is another matter. I don't particularly want to get into it, because it is a long conversation and an even longer debate, but sexual orientation, unlike sexual desire in general, isn't a physical aspect (in either/any) direction. It is a descision - a descision one may make without really realizing they are making it and that may be influenced by their life experience (especially childhood), societies views, and other environmental aspects.

To be honest, I think that you would lose your desires.

Well, yeah.
They're part of your memories, so why wouldn't you lose them?

You'll loose your memory's from your psych but they'll be etched into your body especially if you have an addiction to a drug. It would help but they can always fall back into those habits by external sources.

Though imagining they discover their memories after rehabilitation, I don't know they may choose to stay clean.

tampering with human brain is dangerous especially those involving memories, say there's a method that you can erase those addictions but there are possibilities that some of other important memories can go with it...

I don't quite know about desires...but what I know is even if memory loss occurs, only the brain might forget it, but not the body. That's my personal opinion anyway.

It's only a theory though. Cuz my phone keylock has a long password, sometimes I'd forget it. But surprisingly, my fingers never really lost hold of the memory, so I just let them go from one button to another and voila! Keypad unlocked

Not so sure this is true...or could be true. I know A LOT of poeple without mind OR memory....and hornier than hell. And it scares me that they might actually propagate !

Scary huh, though rabbits are too adorable, I say let them hump.

Erasing memory I doubt will work especially to cure sex addicts. Those urges to me seem more instinctual then memory related or something learnt.

This isn't my field of expertise, so I don't know. I'm going to assume memory loss doesn't affect desire(s) since they are primarily instinct, and even with memory loss-- casual or massive-- hormones most likely remain the same.

Fetishes/kinks/preferences may be a different matter, since they may very well be less instinctive and more about experience.
