As I was watching the latest Shugo chara on full screen at max quality the screen froze on a part of the opening and the sound kept on and I could not get it out of full screen or close firefox in any way. in the end I manually had to shut down the computer which did enoug damage to windows vista files to be unable to boot and needing to format the drive and reinstal windows.
I am not sure if they freezing issue was due to firefox or they crunchyrol player but I wanted to bring this to your attention

you don't need to format or reinstall vista when you manually shutdown

Normally when this happens...it should be very easy to use the task manager to end any of the frozen programs.

And as Chance16 said...there's no need to reinstall vista or reformat it. Unless you've done something else that caused some detrimental changes to the system, or your computer has been invaded by some malware.
