I smoke on a weekly basis and I can honestly say that if i had to, i could quit right now, it's not addicting. Sure it's my word and you guys probably are thinking "This douche is just trying to be cool." I can honestly say I could, and have stopped for long periods of time if need be, for work and such. But now since my new job does not do random testing, I can smoke as I please. Back onto topic, I really hope they don't legalize it at all, it's really going to suck if they do;

#1 Easy to acquire.
#2 Relatively Cheap.
#3 Hard to go to jail for it.
#4 If they legalize it, they're going to tax it.
#5 Have you noticed how expensive tobacco is? The tax on it is insane.
#6 There's going to be really shitty weed out there after it becomes legal once the band wagon joins.
#7 There's SO many other reasons out there, it would really be bad if they legalized it imo.

quite obviously you never hit a spliff in your life then.. or you handled some cheap ass shit... made from your father in a little pea pot.

no ive never smoked it before but i have friends who do

and it can't get you physically addicted so stop saying shit thinking that your cool

There seems to be controversial evidence as to whether it's addictive or not.
But whether it's addictive or not is beside the point in some ways - obviously not as bad as tobacco smoke (to what I'm aware), but that doesn't make it OK

like i said its not physically addictive like crack, people addicted to crack can't function normally, people who are 'addicted" to weed can. They just crave for it thats all.

and btw weed is worse than tobacco , its just that tobacco is more addictive

I think weed should stay illegal, but I support lessening the punishments for it. Years in prison for smoking weed is way to harsh of a punishment, they should just have to pay a fine or something like that. I'm for lenience, not legalization.

Weed ruined some people's life, but so did alcohol and medicaments, etc.

And yes, for some people THC can become an addiction, a serious one where the previously mentioned scenario is taking place.
But one thing is for sure, you can't die of an overdoses from smoking pot, at least I've never had experienced said case. I can smoke one blunt after another and I don't get unconscious from it, or would need medical support, which is sadly not the case when it comes to alcohol.

But then I must ask; Why is alcohol or tobacco more okay than weed? Well we all know that there's more behind that than the morality and health issue.

Make it legal already. -__-;
I'm getting tired of finding new dealers. I would love to see them sell it in stores. I do weed once every two months, and honestly I don't see what the big deal is. Like everyone else stated it's no more dangerous than alcohol and ciggs. The only thing I'm worried about is when it goes public and random people inhale it. Second hand smoking is bad enough, but to smell weed all over the street would be annoying.
Either than that, I'm all for weed becoming legal. I wouldn't care.

I think that that isn't as bad as cigarettes causing cancer or other lunge diseases, or alcohol causing liver failure and impaired judgment, which often leads to severe harm or death of the drinker and many other people. So if those are legal then marijuana should be too since it's negative effects aren't as harmful as many legal drugs.

Your thoughts?
Personally I welcome it since about 70% (I think) of Canadians want the plant to be legal, Our prime minister Jean Chrétien tried to legalize marijuana, in small amounts, but the U.S. and the D.E.A. (Drug enforcement agency) did not like the idea and pretty much threw a wrench into his plan. That and there have been over 20 international studies saying the drug is no more harmful than alcohol and would be better off legalized. If the U.S begins to move towards a more liberal stance on pot than it will be easier to finally get cannabis legalized in my country, provided we can get the Conservatives here to change their view on marijuana, since they seem to be aiming for an American style war on drugs, something which likely will not come to fruition because of the other parties views in our Parliament.
I hope this happens got my fingers crossed for those law makers across the border trying to legalize pot and wish them good luck.

How much is a weed anyway when it becomes sold legally to the public?
