I spent about a month in Japan back in 2006 as an exchange student as well in Kagoshima City, Miami's sister city 8D
I had 2 host families. the 1st one I knew my host sister already cos she came here to Miami on the same program and stayed at my friends house and was good friends with my homestay sister as well, so we had random sleepovers lol.
Haruka was CRAZY i loved her! everyone thought she was a boy. Short boy hair, baggy pants, thick boned, and HUGE miami heat fan lol but a super girly girl when it came to shopping XD Altho staying in america for a while had changed her "japanese ways", I thought thats what made her hilarious <3
My second host family, it was the mother that was wild as hell. She always played tricks on me, like feeding me umeboshi and telling me its sweet like candy, and to eat it whole! and of course i did.. i almost cried from it being so sour Dx then she made me onigiri for my school lunch.. and SURPRISE one of my onigiri had umeboshi inside.. and I didnt wanna spit it up in front of all my classmates.. so I forced myself to swallow! i hate umeboshi lmao.
We also visited Mt Sakurazima, where i encountered my 1st earthquake.. made a fool of myself stampeeding back to the tour bus dragging my cousin and BF along

well Im planning on going back again next summer. This time to tokyo to visit the 1st homestay sister i ever had. and to see gals of course! cos there werent much in kagoshima. alot of bgals n boys (yumm my fave <3)

why does everyone keep saying they aren't visiting japan for anime? lol, don't lie to us.

I've lived there for about 8 years now, but we moved due to my father's job as some others have stated. :)

The real reason I will visit Japan: for the men. I've known anime for a long time, but anime will never beat men.
I'm going to be learning japanese and korean, and hopefully, when I go to those places, I'll be able to chit chat with others.

True, I don't care for the anime either here.
There's better things than anime. The men, stores, places to ear.

To me, it does seem like another country like the USA.

Aghh, I forgot the places to eat. I love homeland cooking. I'm always excited whenever I think about going there, and the stores are probably really different, and maybe I can finally find cute clothing. In Canada, you usually see urban or modern clothing.

It does, when you really think about it. We have special Disney and Nickelodeon stores, and they have their anime stores. They equal up.
