No I haven't :/. But I know like...10 people who actually stayed there for like 6 weeks or more..including my dad lol. So not fair. Everyone said they liked it, and my one friend said he started missing Japan right when he stepped on the plane back lol. >.< I would want to go I guess..but the programs my friends did had them stay with a Japanese family for the 6 weeks...I don't really want to do that lol. But whatever..I'll probably go there when I can actually speak the language >.>.

Just come back from my 5th trip to Japan. It was terribly hot out there but I had a great time as always, catching up with my friend who lives there. Going back to see the sakura again in April next year.

Had a fantastic time over there.

Spent the first quarter of this year (January - April) there, an opportunity granted by JCMU (the study abroad in Japan program in Michgan; I recommend it to anyone of university age who lives in Michigan and wants to go!). I can't even begin to describe my experience. I lived in the city of Hikone in the Shiga prefecture, which is right on Biwa-ko, the largest lake in the country (and part of the reason why Shiga and Michigan are sister-states). It was only about an hour by train to Kyoto, and I had the absolute pleasure of seeing the sakura blossom there.

I did, one weekend, get to go to Tokyo. Despite the fact that my feet swelled up so much it hurt to walk, I had an absolute blast and was sad I was only able to go for a weekend (a long weekend, thanks to a national holiday). I got to see the Tokyo Marathon while I was there, too, which was really neat! Not that entertaining, though, except for the people in costume (saw Pikachu and Sailor Moon running the marathon).

I saw castles and temples and love hotels and experienced my first ever earthquake while I was there. I also got to experience grocery shopping and cooking for myself (for the record: there is no ranch dressing or peanut butter in Japan. Be prepared for that. It came as a nasty shock to those of us who weren't prepared ;D).

OH! And there was this delicious pan-ya up the street from my school that a woman ran out of the back of her home all by herself. Made the most delicious bread related food anywhere, and it was super cheap, too. Smart idea, opening something like that near where a bunch of hungry Americans are studying for months on end!

I think I've rambled about it enough, haha. I'll end this here.

My mother's family lives there so we go almost every summer.
This time was fun since the food was INCREDIBLE and so was the shopping and I got to sit in the exact spot that Domyogi and Makino sat in HYD <3!!!!!
We also went to Harajuku and Shinjuku (but no Shibuya) and we went to TBS studios to see a filming ^^
