I visited for a little less than a month, not nearly enough time but I feel like I was able to do so much in that short time. I can not wait until I am able to return, hopefully I will be able take my time next time!

First time posting. I've never been to Japan. I'd like to go but I don't make a lot money. I get a disability check from the government once a month.

I wish my job was not such a pain in the ass about me taking the vacation time I earned over the last 13 years. I have about 50 vacation days in the bank, and would love to spend July 2013 (20-25 days vacation time) in a study abroad language program in Kyoto.

I was in Japan for a month this past summer for about a month doing a home stay. I'll be studying there for just shy of two months this summer and plan on going back for most of the summer in 2014. I'm planning on moving to Japan once I graduate. The culture is a far better fit for me than the US.
10/10 for sure.

Yes, I spent just over three years in Japan while my late husband was working there between Nara, Higashiyama, Gion, Kanazawa, Tokyo, and some time in the Kiso Valley. I would love to go back one day. I found the people complicated and fascinating. The culture so intriguing warm and wonderful. An amazing place full of amazing people.

Yea been there it's pretty legit. stayed for two weeks it was nice. Talked to a lot of girls. Ate a lot of authentic food there. I swear the ramen was even different from the ramen in Japanese restaurants in America. lol Big city for sure, shopping malls are insanely huge and are like a small city inside of a building with everything you could ever possibly imagine or not imagine? lol Good people nice place. If you go there just don't be too American, they can smell it a mile away and it won't get you very far in meeting friends.

1 year in Tokyo (2007). I lived in Shibuya. It was awesome! My second week there my co-worker found me an apartment. It was pretty relaxed during the day but knowing nothing about the area, I found out by the weekend that I lived on Love Hotel Hill. Nothing weird but it was kind of strange sometimes when I came home from work at night to see couples always walking in and out of the places.
I worked for a western company but they adopted the Japanese post work culture which means we always were out after work with our Japanese counterparts partying. There's lots of neat stuff to see too. There was a really neat Manga store near the Starbucks at Shibuya crossing and a couple good clubs in the area. Favorite chill out spot was Ebisu though.
Sigh...I miss Japan

If you go to college and graduate you can check the Jet program and teach english. The pay is decent, enough to support yourself

I would give anything to visit Japan. How amazing would it be to walk down a path full of sakura trees as the sun's setting? That's my happy place.
