Since the Full House hit the Thai TV, there has been a Korean culture craze in Thailand. I think it's the same in many Asian country, what do you think Koreans have that other Asians don't have?

For me, it's because I like Korean language, and they are very good musicians. They make great dramas with very attrative people in them. That's about it.

How do you think?

Korean culture been the "big trend" these past few years. Socially it's called the "Korean Wave."

Japan used to be the big Asian trend, now it's Korea. Personally, I like Japanese culture better, but Korean know how to make awesomely weird movies.

Besides, other than this big culture craze, Korea (both N. and S.), have absolutely nothing else going for them.

I appreciate all asian cultures not just the Korean Culture. Korea has great music (esp. KPOP) and great Dramas (Boys B4 Flowers etc) and it's what they do best in, well, at least in the entertainment world, which makes them stand out more.

wel, in general,
koreans have a whole "korean pride" thing...
at my school, the koreans talk in korean allll the time.. srsly.
teh chinese adn japanese dont talk in chinese and japanese all the time,
but th ekoreans do.
and they talk about all their korena dramas and songs all the time.
its hard to describe, but you can tell they have this whole korean pride...
its kinda funny sometimes actually

I think people like Korea base on Korean dramas, movies, and Korean singers and not Korea and it's culture. Putting all that aside this is what I like and dislike about Korea.

I loved that I can walk around in mini skirt in Korea and not have to worry that something bad will happen to me...I loved that they are night owls and I can stay at bars until 4 in the morning or go shopping at 1 in the morning. I loved the subway system. It's so much easier than subway system in other countires. I loved all the cheap cloths and shoes! I loved that they have small shoes as my feet are very small. I loved the spicy and yummy foods! I loved that taxies are so cheap! I loved when we all have a team spirit especially during the soccer games.

I hate that they are not open minded. I hate that if my friend has a friend that I do not know, my friend will not hangout with me and that friend at the same time...especially if that friend do not speak one of the languages that me and my friend know. I hate that college students don't take college seriously. I hate that college students do not clean their school. Seoul University might have a big name, but the school is a trash! I hate that the subway closed at midnight. I hate the bad drivers. I dislike the water down beer.

erm, i think that's more of because they cant sell albums in korea. it is very difficult to sell albums in korea because fans just do not buy them. dongbangshinki boast a 800k member in their FC. but they only sold like half of that number.
whereas for cases in jp, fans buy the albums. I think up till now, JP is still one of the countries with lowest piracy rates. the japanese has this kinda attitude whereby they are willing to pay for their goods (unlike other nationalities who simply loves to dl for free), and they also take pride in maintaining the best quality of their products so that it will be worth every cent for their customers.
i guess this is why japanese goods are soooooo expensive yet tourists still flock over to shop.
anyway i've digressed. firstly, the chinese still need not learn other languages to try to break into other language markets because the chinese market is HUGE. there is chinese literally in every corner of the world. why bother trying to break into other markets when you havent even fully conquer your own?
as for japanese, they can sell their albums well in japan itself. look at the JE boys, one million copies sold just like that. They can easily earn enough money in jp, so there's no need for them to go through all the trouble to learn other languages in search for new markets. at least, not yet... even with the hallyu taking over the japanese craze.
heehee... i apologise for bothering you with my essay.

anyway back to the main topic qn. i dont think korean(culture) music is the most appreciated asian(culture) music.... i still have a lot of friends who dont give a damn about korean music and dont even know what is dbsk, wg, ss501, snsd or whatever. just that korean music is currently the 'trend' now, as in the hallyu. years back it use to be the jpop craze. now it's hallyu. i wonder what's next? Mandarin Pop finally?

I personally like all asian cultures. ^__^;
Each has a little "twist" to them. 0=)

I believe the Koreans are extremelyyyyyy talented and know how to capture the heart of the audience. Their korean dramas, music, etc. are OUTSTANDING. =) & Not to forget... there are a lot of good-looking Koreans out there! *;]

But it's not only Korea. I live in Japan, and I loooooooove the culture here. It's a bit "conservative" but I like the level of politeness and the thought of honor. =D Actually, most asian cultures are like that as well. =]

I think what makes Korea stand out when it comes to entertainment... is the way they entertain. Many countries can produce the same type of story plot of a soap opera... but not as good as how Korea's PD's do it! Even though we probably know someone in the drama is going to die (or what not)... Korean dramas still find a way to keep us watching, crying, and even laughing! =D

Each country has it's way of "individuality." And I think... considering Korea also has that "level of politeness", they still have grrrreat pride and modesty in themselves. ^-^* Not all countries can express the way the Korean celebrities do. =) It's through their talents, their skills, their motivation, and especially the effort of hard work that keeps our heart beating... and making us anticipate more of what they can do for us! =)

Korea.... WE LOVE YOU!

Japanese culture will always be my favorite.
Maybe that's simply because I just don't care about Korea or Korean culture...I dont know.
That's just me though...

mmm, i honestly wouldnt know why any other countires would have a craze over korean culture...
i think that korea has a talent in producing awesome music and dances for musicians, like how DBSK is so popular--its not because other countries like korea, its because they love DBSK
and most the dramas are well formed, they have strong story plots and the actors/actresses are well chosen
and i also dont think korea thinks that they are very popular, they're probably just trying their best for the people
-i think that koreans are very clean when they do things so i like it, they r very creative ^^ i got a super junior cd and it was very cute, i loved the pics and how the jacket was set up

The korean language is nice. But when aired in other asian countries, it usually gets dubbed. So it's probably cuz people just simply like their dramas.

I perfer japanese dramas, but feel more comfortable with koreans. Their sense of humor are different. I love japanese comedians, but when it comes to normal people, I perfer koreans. Koreans are also more open to foreigners. They dont really make a big deal out of ones race..
