This is a compiled list of legal Anime streaming and downloading sites.
I will try to keep this list as accurate and updated as possible.
Thanks for looking and enjoy.

Quick notes about these sites:
- Most of these services are only available for the North American audience, unless stated otherwise.
- All the streaming sites, unless otherwise noted, offer free viewing of their content.
- If an episode is available for download, usually a nominal fee is required, about $1.99.

Streaming Sites:

crunchyroll: http://www.crunchyroll.com/
*http://www.crunchyroll.com/library/IndexAnime
- Basic membership lets the user view almost everything, but there is a "week" waiting period for the newer content.
- The site requires a Star Membership to use some of it’s features like “advanced” viewing, 480p or “720p” "quality," and to access some of it’s contents.
- Episodes can be purchased and downloaded here http://www.crunchyroll.com/store.
- The shows' episode release dates are here http://www.crunchyroll.com/launchcalendar.

Articles on Anime and Licensing and Copyright:
- Licensing by Brennan
* This is a very condensed wikiroll article on licensing, copyright, fansubbing, and crunchyroll.
- How Fansubs Steal from Studios, One Episode at a time by DomFortress
* "A spirited discussion on [the] crunchyroll forums, where user DomFortress explains how illegal fansubs [and distribution practices] hurt the [Anime] industry"
- I will not discuss (argue) about the legality of Fansubs, other "Anime" streaming site, and the like on this thread, as there has been more than a handful of them going around the Anime community and on this site especially. I listed these sites as legal because they more than comply with the copyright law practices in the U.S. and Japan.

Closing Notes:
- If you have any knowledge of any more sites like these, legal and such (one that has ties with the Anime companies), please share them.
- Suggestions, comments, corrections, random crap, anything else?

Again, thanks for looking, and I hope that this thread helped you.

You have inspired me to log in and give you a compliment. So, hear it goes...

GOOD JOB! I guess.

EDIT: iTunes sells dubbed anime I think.... Yep, the sell anime on iTunes for $1.99 per episode. All in dubs and very good quality.

Some are:
Black Blood Brothers
Bleach
Burst Angel
Death Note
Macross II + Macross Plus
Naruto
Solty Rei
Suzuka

EDIT2: They even sell Ah! My Goddess and Aquarion.

Easy way is Browse -> TV Shows -> Animation -> (Whatever anime)

They don't separate the shows, so American ones are mixed with Japanese ones.

You also have to download iTunes from Apple and register to be able to buy.

Download iTunes

Nice!

There's a Japanese website too called BIGLOBE. But I guess you have to know Japanese.... They stream if you are using Internet Explorer and sell downloads for use with window media player.

Update June 17, 2009: BIGLOBE, the Japanese website I mentioned a long time ago, changed the url and name of their anime streaming portal to Anime One.

The problem with that is that most of us don't speak a lick of Japanese.
But, thanks.

Not only they are dubbed but only available in North America. Are they saying the rest of the world don't watch anime? Or is the market and concentration of the rest of the world too small and not worth it compared to North America?

The episodes that they have shown in RAW, except for Haruhi-chan and Churuya-san, they have links to another website that shows them with english subs (Like Kaze no Stigma and H2O Foot Prints in the Sand).

What about the obvious one like Youtube? They Have many series online (though borken up into parts).

Veoh is a good streaming website and you can download their videos (though recently made harder since the change to the beta since the "download all in series" button is nowhere to be found).

Megauploads lets you stream about 72 minutes a day for free users and those with membership get to watch as much as they want and download anything.
