Nah, I'm pretty sure she's with SM....unless she's changed labels recently.

i think they'll do ok but i'm not totally convinced that they will conquer the U.S. market. It's a start for the most part and i hope they do well.

i dunno...i love their music and all, but not many asians make it big in the US
my friends, the ones that arent asian, are like who the heck are they
but it would be cool if they did make it
cause i like BoAs and Utada's music, their english songs are good =D

Agreeeeed.

It's all about slow but sure transitions people!!!

Also agree. She's more fluent. But I do wish the best for DBSK. <3 I would be more than glad to buy an album from a store instead of online.

Shakira wasn't that fluent. I could barely understand her a few years back. >.> Especially her music. I like her Spanish songs better.

Here goes my assessment on them [I tried to make it as unbiased as I could be anyway]:

◄ Se7en - might have a chance. Hey, his English is good and he's already collaborated with Lil Kim. The only prob is YG sucks in promoting him. Se7en needs to promote himself not only to his fans and Asian-Americans but further more.

◄ BoA - might have a chance. Although Eat You Up didn't exactly do as well in the charts as expected [It landed on the Hot Dance tracks, which isn't saying much, not exactly Billboard 100], she just needs more promotions. Frankly, tbh, I don't like her new songs they sound Britneylike to me. Not saying that Britney or BoA's style isn't good, we all know despite how crappy Britney's songs are they still sell well. It's just that BoA needs a bit of originality to shine from other American pop artists. And another thing, her accent still needs some work but it's getting there.

◄ DBSK - I hate to say this, fangirl spazzing aside, I don't think boybands would stand a chance in America. The Backstreet Boys and NSYNC days are long over.

◄ Big Bang - Well, this is where I'm not sure. Depends on how Se7en makes it on the US charts. BB has the talent the thing is, they lack good promotions [thanks very much to YG].

I read an opinion piece about Boa saying that although she's good, the market here is so saturated with female artists all doing the same thing as her that it will be hard for her to stand out. When you think about it women are all we have dominating the charts(not including rappers). other than Usher(who's on hiatus), Chris Brown(who's, uh, also on hiatus) and Justin there aren't any male singers out there. The male market's a lot more open than the solo female market.

Also, What about wonder girls? Aren't they touring or something over here right now? I think they could do good with the tween crowd.....if Disney doesn't contract a hit on them.lol

Yeah, they have a good chance of penetrating on the American Hit Charts.
I saw the making of Se7en's video 'Girls" featuring Li'l Kim.
He speaks english well.
The rhythm of his song was fine.

i'm not a fan of BoA though,
I downloaded her 'Eat you up' single...
but I ended up deleting it. haha~
(sorry for BoA fans there.)

DBSK=more practice iin English and I AM VERY SURE...
They'll make it BIG in the US.
(by the way, Micky looks so HOT when he speaks in English. )

It depends on their song types, some songs just aren't that popular in the U.S I'd have to say if it's r&b or dance style and they have good English then sure. Personally I think that Big Bang would do really well with their genre if they went to debut in english (if they did it well and got lots of promotions) as well as Se7en and maybe DBSK. But a group like Suju would be too much to handle for a country that only has boybands that mostly play rock (and have up to 6 members not double that )

i wouldn't say BIG ... the fact that they're a boyband affects people's judgements before they even listen to them
