why are most of voice actors are singers?
Posted 3/6/09
whenever i seach for a voice actor to know more about his/her roles i find that they are singers and not actors,i wonder why, does it mean that the singers can act better that the profficinal actors or because this career deals with voice so it is more realistic that a singer "who works with his voice"is more suitable for that, i don t know other voice actors that acted in drama"anybody knows?"
when i try to watch a drama that was taken from a manga or anime i feel "what is that is it actting!"i m so sorry for all japanese and japanese drama fans, but really do you think that the japanese actors can act well?
p.s.
i m not just mocking ppl so don t be harsh,if you feel the same as me write that and if you not recommend me good dramas

it has become common for seiyū to sing the opening or closing themes of shows in which their character stars

Most seiyuus have really attractive voices. And they've probably had some kind of voice supporting lessons. And they have a great feeling of how to express emotions using only ones voice. If you know how to support your voice and on top of that have a really nice voice it's pretty logical that you'll be good at singing.

I think, they act as the depending Character the most efficient way, since they are proffessional at holding the voice or outstand with emotions, its somehow neccessary as seiyū.

Voice actors know how to project their voices in a really good way. It is only logical that they would be good at singing as well. The same goes for live actors.

If anyone's got a problem with that, I'm sending you to the firing line.

for versatility-purposes, i think. imagine, if the anime character knows how to sing and there are only mere dubbers (who do not sing) the company would still be looking for another singer for the character. competition is difficult nowadays anyway.
