Jang Ja Yun has committed suicide
Posted 3/7/09 , edited 7/5/09
THE LATEST UPDATE!

Key suspect in Jang Ja Yeon abuse case finally found

It's about time this sicko was caught!

The manager of the late Boys Over Flowers actress Jang Ja-yeon's former management company, Kim Sung-hoon was finally apprehended and brought to Seoul on Friday from Tokyo, where he had been hiding and ignoring the "repeated requests" from the Seoul police to come back to Seoul for questioning. As left in Ja-yeon's suicide note, this was the man that received "sexual favors" from her, as well as forced her to engage in despicable acts with other "media heavyweights."

Just the mere fact that he was hiding so long and then showed up wearing a hat, sunglasses and a face mask just has guilty written all over it to me. He's obviously hiding something, but not for long. Hopefully, now that he is apprehended, justice will be served and Jang Ja Yeon will finally rest in peace.

Boys Before Flowers Stunned by Suicide

It was another setback and a major one for Boys Before Flowers as one of the actresses, Jang Ja Yun (27) who plays Sunny in the drama and makes life difficult for Jandi as part of the JinSunMi trio was found to have committed suicide in her Bundang home today.

According to local police who confirmed the suicide, " Jang Ja Yun was found to have committed suicide in her own home today. She was discovered at around 7.34pm by her sister who then called the police. We are now investigating the case and will give further updates like the reason, her will (if any), etc at a later time." The police also revealed that her approximate time of death was around 4.30pm and that she had hung herself.

Friends who knew Jang Ja Yun were shocked by her suicide and expressed, "She had a passion for acting and loved it very much. She was very much a extrovert and we never really expected that she would commit suicide." Her sudden suicide has plunged the entire Boys Before Flowers into shock with the main cast of Lee Min Ho, Goo Hye Sun, etc unable to believe what they have heard after learning of the news from their respective companies.

Everyone involved with Boys Before Flowers will be paying their respects tomorrow morning at her wake after the morning session ends. According to someone at the filming site now, "We are still filming now (10pm, KST) and it was a big shock to receive this sad news suddenly. Why do all the bad things keep happening to Boys Before Flowers?"

Jang Ja Yun graduated from Chosun University and had made her debut through a Lotte Biscuit CF and was only starting out with her acting career. She still won a bit of popularity for her small role in Boys Before Flowers despite her late debut. But it's being reported that a dispute with her present management agency and a lack of time in Boys Before Flowers had left her feeling depressed and eventually causing her to choose the wrong path.

She only recently walked the red carpet at the recent 45th Baeksang Awards with the other 2 members of the JinSunMi trio, showing her excellent figure. She was also going to debut on the big screen with 2 upcoming movies and the future looked bright but her sudden suicide has left people feeling pity for her. What could possibly get worse from here on for Boys Before Flowers? Jang Ja Yun joins a lengthening list of Korean celebrities who have committed suicide in recent years. It's just a very sad situation overall.

Jang Ja Yun Suicide Because of Depression

The shock suicide of Boys Before Flowers actress Jang Ja Yun (26) is still causing shockwaves all over Korea and the industry with many speculating over the actual reasons behind her doing so. Theories ranged from contractual woes with her management, lack of appearances (airtime) in Boys Before Flowers, bashing by antis, etc but close friends have revealed that the main reason was probably depression. Jang Ja Yun had hanged herself in her home yesterday with police ruling out any forms of foul play after initial investigations.

Police revealed after investigations that Jang Ja Yun had developed depression after losing her parents in a car accident 10 years ago. Jang Ja Yun was still in high school when that happened and although she got on well with life after inheriting her parent's fortune, she had already suffered a big blow mentally that could not be healed easily. Jang Ja Yun might have looked cheerful and bubbly on the outside normally, but she was horribly scared of being left alone deep inside her heart and highly afraid (phobia) about losing her friends.

According to the police, "Her (Jang Ja Yun) sister has expressed that she had depression all along and it had gotten even worst recently. She would often shut herself in her room when she doesn't have any schedules." Her sister also revealed that in order to forget the pain bought on by her parents death, Ja Yun had tried all sorts of ways including rearing pets but it was to no avail. Visits to the hospital had increased recently to treat herself for depression but no one thought that Jang Ja Yun would eventually choose to commit suicide.

Police received a 119 emergency call yesterday evening from Ja Yun's sister and rushed to the scene. But it was too late when they got there as Ja Yun had already passed away a few hours ago by hanging herself from a railing along her stairs. No will or anything was left behind by her. The last known phonecall that Ja Yun made was to her friend yesterday at 2.30pm which seemed to have foreshadowed of what was going to happen next as she said that she was very tired and wanted to die. Jang Ja Yun's body will be cremated on the 9th.

As Jang Ja Yun's parents had passed away a long time ago, not many relatives attended the wake today with most coming from the Boys Before Flowers cast and production staff.

With her last appearance in Boys Before Flowers coming in the ski resort episode (episode 12), the red carpet at the 45th Baeksang Awards became her last stage.

Whatever it is, hope that she finds solace right now. Rest in peace.

Jang Ja Yun’s Manager Speaks Out

Recently deceased Boys Over Flowers actress Jang Ja Yun past and possible reasons for her suicide are beginning to surface.

First it was reported that she died of depression and there were even reports saying that her manager stated she was murdered, well, that might be true... to some extent.

It has now been exposed that the up and coming actress was beaten and forced to sleep with the Production Director (PD). Her manager is now revealing the gruesome first hand accounts of the suffering and assaults against her, despite her family not wanting this information to be leaked. Jang Ja Yun hand wrote documents listing her tragedies. Before her death, she asked her manager to expose the person responsible for her attacks. She told him she didn't want her family to think she died of just depression but from something far worse.

The manager has yet to reveal more specifics regarding the documents but he did state the contents to be very shocking and disturbing. He only said so far that there were incidents at room saloons and bars, and being forced to sleep with the Dirty Ass PD. Other abuse include being physically beaten with water bottles and receiving threatening text messages. All this abuse took place in the past year and even just week before she committed suicide, she went to the head of her company to ask for help from the harassment. But she was beaten and told to just endure it.

She confessed in her letters that she was forced to do the dirty deeds, because she had no money and was emotionally weak. Jang Ja Yun's manager made a public statement that although exposing her truth to the police and media is going against her family's wishes, he wants to see the person pay / punished for her death.

The manager is cooperating with police to bring the PD in question to justice. Currently, the PD is in Japan (wonder what he's up to?).... how convenient.

It's been reported that the manager has tried to commit suicide also after revealing this statement and is currently hospitalized. He tried to commit suicide to avoid any backlash from exposing the truth about Jang Ja Yun.

Jang Ja Yun Forced to Have Sex

Investigations into “Boys over Flowers” cast member, Jang Ja-yeon is heating up after her tragic death. A letter left by the 29 year old described how she was beaten and forced to serve drinks, act as an escort and as well as sleep with media executives, CEOs or others who might “help” her career.

Although the public is outraged about the situation, this is nothing new. The entertainment industry is extremely dirty and if an actress wants to be a star, she basically has to be a high-class RS girl. Her management company will send her out to meet any producer, director, CEO, politician who might “sponsor” her or give her a big break in a drama or film. That is the sad reality.

The public is also clamoring for the release of the names of the ajusshis who were involved with Jang Ja-yeon. If letter is verified as authentic, the list of names may go public…

Police Denies Knowledge of Names Mentioned In Jang Ja Yun’s Note

In probably one of the most dramatic (and ridiculous) twist in this incident, the South Korea Police has today(18th) denied any knowledge of the ten over influential figures mentioned in Late Jang Ja Yun’s suicide note. This is a complete contradiction to their previous statements when they announced the name list will only be revealed after verifying the authenticity of the suicide document as those involved are all prominent figures from various industries. As a result, rumours and speculations spread among Korean netizens now mostly points to a greater conspiracy involved.

The South Korea Police Department announced today the names of the supposed culprits were already removed in the document given to them by KBS. Therefore, the police currently has no knowledge of those people whom Jang Ja Yun mentioned in her note.

To make things worse, Yoo Jang Ho, the former manager of Jang Ja Yun, also the original holder of the document, held a press conference today and denied handing the document to the media.

During the press conference held at around 3pm, Yoo said: “I’m standing here purely out of my own accord. What I’m going to say today are all my thoughts.”

He continued: “It is now more than 10 days since Jang Ja Yun committed suicide. I know that there are many rumours surrounding her death. I think Jang Ja Yun was having some struggle with some authorities and eventually chose death as a protest. The reason for the press conference is to reveal the truth to the public. Jang Ja Yun’s suicide was only a result of a handful of ‘villians’. I just wanted to tell the truth but I didn’t think it would eventually put the entire entertainment industry in a bad light.”

As to a question asking if he is using this as a publicity or money-making stunt, Yoo replied that he neither has the ability to do nor does he want to make profit using a dead person.”

He then replied to another question whichy Jang Ja Yun’s family claimed that he had tarnished Jang’s reputation. He said: “I’m regretful towards this and will work towards removing this misunderstanding between us.”

Most importantly, Yoo claimed that he did not pass the suicide document to KBS or any other media. The original document that he had was handed over to her family, which they eventually burned it. And this brings forth the question as to where did KBS get their copy?

The current situation is that the police denied knowledge of any names and the original document was burned. Some hidden power at work? Will Jang Ja Yun’s grievance be redressed, if any, now that there seems to be some form of cover-up ongoing?

Jang Ja Yun's list

The list of men whom that Jang Ja-yeon was forced to “meet” is floating around the internet. Although the government has banned the list from being published on Korean media sites, we have gotten our grubby little hands on the list. From the list (and assuming it’s true), all we can say is that the poor girl had to meet men her father’s age (the oldest listed at 62) with the average age in their 50’s. And these men are higher ups at one of the biggest broadcasting companies and the largest sports newspapers in Korea.

Poor girl.

Rest in peace.

WOW.
That's shocking, she's really beautiful as well.

She was one of the most hilarious characters in BOF as well, I think she was a very good actress, even though she had a small part.
