they start believing in fairy tale [drama ending] hoping their would be a real-life counter part of their idolized personality in the drama [a.k.a. modern-day prince charming]

also nationalism and patriotism is declining

filipino originality is also declining [they started revising asian drama (may i say korean drama most of the time) ]
also their fashion sense is affected

btw they start singing KPOP i repeat KPOP [dont dare call it asian pop by just listening and featuring kpop artist and song that goes to you myx!!} even though they don't understand a single thing

note: it's just like what happened when taiwan f4 craze hit the philippines [it will fade too in a matter of time ]

1. Learning hangul through self-study
2. The peace sign
3. The hairstyles (boys and girls, YEAH~)
4. The fashion sense (more of Asian style)
5. K-Pop
6. F4 (ask my 3-year-old bro...he knows Gu Jun-Pyo)
7. Hating on Filipino remakes of Asian Dramas ( sometimes, on the Filipino Showbiz Industry itself)
8. Takes a lot of self-captured-photos
9. Koreans in PBB
10. Taking 'Oh, you so look Korean!' ( seriously?) as a complement

People tend to act out what they watch. That's if they're influenced enough. The effects are either good or bad. Teenagers are going through a "metamorphic" stage, meaning they are in a lot of changes and their mental states are still stabilizing. They take those they like and shoo away those they don't want.

Some of the effects I noticed-- feel free to decide whether these are on the good side or not::

1.) The way they dress/ pose for picture-taking
2.) Additional other Asian language in their vocabulary (sometimes mixing it with the local language)
3.) Acting out a scene from what they're watching as a reaction to a real-life situation
4.) Idolization of the characters/actors from the drama episodes
5.) Inspiration/ new ideas about something

1. Idolizing Korean/Taiwanese/Japanese idols more than our local ones.
2. Start loving the Hangul language.
3. Start loving other Asian music (esp Korean) and started singing & listening to it even though they (or we) don't understand what it means.
4. Becoming Wannabes.

Personally, I'd rather watch something in a language that I KNOW and watch asian dramas from a country that I LOVE and yes I'm a teen. I used to be so obsesssed with Japanese stuff but my friends (they're also asian, Chinese to be exact) always say that I'm like anime obsessed or when I listen to Korean/Japanese songs, they're like OMG NOT AGAIN!
I started to really limit myself to asian songs and now I'm listening and watching Filipino shows because I've neglected my own countries dramas.
I wanted to learn Japanese but got bored of it and started teaching myself more Tagalog because I honestly suck at it.
Honestly, I've only watched one Japanese drama (my first one too), Absolute Boyfriend and I was like (okay NO OFFENCE) wow..seriously? The acting sucked, their kiss was so fake, their cry was like...so noticable that they were acting and I'm like, no...just...nooooo.
Anyways, I was so obsessed with the Japanese culture and anime that I was thinking that maybe I'd travel there someday (I still do but I want to go to European places more), learn Japanese, blah blah blah and I would get sooo offended if someone said something mean about Japan.
Yeah, now that I'm over that (THANK GAWD) I'm finally back to having full Filipino pride.
Seriously, the Filipinos see only the Japanese STARS. I live in Canada and trust me, a lot of Japanese and Koreans don't look like the stars. I have a lot of Asian (mainly Chinese, Filipino and Korean) friends and most of them don't look like the cute little muffins with HUGE eyes.
I respect Japan, Korea and China but in my opinion, the Philippines is the best.

Yuh, I have a friend who's Filipino and she knows how to speak Korean a bit and I'm like =.="
Filipinos are becoming too obsessed with other cultures, they forget their own, seriously, it's actually making me so pissed but I still watch anime...only if it's in english. I only go on crunchyroll to look for anime and read the manga. :P

You know, my family and I are planning to go back to the Philippines next year. I'm gonna go out and buy the traditional Filipino clothing and go to the mall and just walk around and be like "yeah, I'm Filipino and not a wannabe" I'll actually do that, thanks for that!

After reading this whole thread, I'm permanently mad at my own race. I'll step on all those wannabes when I go to the Philippines, so if you see me, run away because I'll stuff you with knowledge of the Philippines and how to love your own country. Why won't they copy the Japanese and Koreans for loving their country and culture? Now that's something that I wouldn't mind at all but this...is just getting out of hand. -.-"

patriotism is declining.. oh.. and i've been doing the peace sign far before i started watching j & kdramas so i disagree with the person above

yep.. agree. its good that SOME OF US learn korean language.. but its no use for the good of the country...
yep watching Taiwanese, JAPANESE and KOREAN drama's are fun to watch.. we like them. its also because our showbiz industry doesnt know how to make quality movies/dramas (esp. gma/abscbn although im a kapamilya) so we incline into other stuffs..

it isnt bad actually. its just that our nationality, and love for our country is affected.
although although although.. i love being asian.:))
now i lost my point..

study study study. english:))

ps. im not generalizing.. all those people here in crunchyroll likes to watch asian..dramas
there are other people who watch WESTERN dramas.. (GG, 90210, laguna beach, OTH etc.)

i agree!!! its reeally is like patriotism towards the country is declining.
