Too me, kissing to greet someone is way beyond my comfort zone. I don't even like giving hugs. Just shake my hand or say "hi".

Same here, excluding the shaking hands. I just say "hi" and wave.

My departed mother-in-law's family is Italian (and all the girls are named Angela). They would always greet close friends and family with cheek kisses. Took some getting used to.

Nope. Even touching skin are forbidden in our religion ._. And I don't think it's necessary to kiss someone.

Only with people closest to me. If we're not, just saying "hi" will do.

I usually shake hands with guys, as a greeting.
And girls can kiss me on the chicks (they do sometimes) as a greeting and I'm okay with it, but the best I've done to them is cheek-to-cheek (weird but this chick did it first, and got mad when I didn't return it/do the same o.O)

In my country 3 kisses on the cheeks as greeting is common.
But I hate it.. Don't feel comfortable with it. I only do it on birthdays of my friends or family.
Oh, and with giving 'Happy new year' greeting' :p
