Kissing as a greeting?

Well have our cultures so we should all respect each others cultures. So them trying to greet us like that when its not our culture in my opinion is a little rude. unless of course they are young of course they arnt going to know the difference. but adults should at least know that we are all different across the world with different thoughts, believes and culture.
The only place i will allow someone to kiss me that I'm close too and is not my boyfriend, or husband is in the cheek or forehead.
Other then that i am REALLY touchy with people trying to kiss me as a greeting unless its the cheek or forhead for my aunts that im close with or with people from my church.

Whats wrong with kissing someone on the cheek as a greeting? Scared of infection?
It's only a way of greeting and i don't mind it, do it sometimes

I hate kissing. If someone tried to kiss me, they would get the back of my hand in their face.

The mouth carries untold horrors! Rotten bits of food, greasy slobber and a boatload of bacteria. I don't want some weirdo slobbering on my face! I don't care if they're male or female, beautiful or ugly...NO SLOBBER!

Kissing (either on one cheek or both cheeks) is a common form of greeting in most countries where Latin based languages (Italian, Spanish, Romanian, Portuguese and French) are spoken; either in the Americas or Europe.

Also, is common in the Middle East and some Eastern European countries.

When I moved to the US, I felt kinda weird when I was introduced to someone, and a kiss wasn't required. However, virtually in all Latin America kissing as a greeting is basically a norm. In the Americas, girl to girl and girl to guy are the rule; guy to guy is a Middle Eastern thing.

kisses on the cheek is okay for a greeting, if it's one of my close friends, otherwise i think a hug will do.
