Because they love to cling to anything lame... and goth is too good a term for them, they're so ugg... they must have been born without brains, they don't even deserve a term.

corpse bride sucked so bad but nightmare was still really good. forever a childhood clasic. and in that time it was really good and really well done. even if i watch it again now and see that it is nothing in comparison to todays virual arts i still like it becuse of how i originaly felt all those years ago.

I really enjoyed both Nightmare and Corpse Bride. Not sure what people don't like about it just as long as they realize it's a musical first and foremost. It has been overhyped to hell though and I can see why that would put people off on it. I thought the animated quality was great, an interesting visual concept, and the music was fun too. I wouldn't listen to it on my own per se, but it's fun for what it is in the context of the movie.

Oh and I enjoyed Corpse Bride alot, since I enjoy gothic literature so much (Jane Austen, Bronte sisters), and this was kind of a screwball horror comedy version of that genre. But I tend to accept films (and much everything else) for what they are rather than reject it because it wasn't what I wanted it to be.

Hmmm why do goth kids love them? Perhaps that whole infatuation with all this is dark and spooky. And their secret desire to merrily frolic about.

I screwed around with Goth scene a bit in my younger and more stupid days. I remember most of them having a good sense of humor and generally being alot more positive than alot of the other cliques and what not (and less full of themselves), but I think it was a pretty different scene back then, back before... emo entered into the equation.

Well i dont think anyone is doubting the picture itself was bad..because it wasnt but like you already stated overhyped to hell and back its a hottopic goldmine with all those NBC bags shirts hats and whatever else they can slap on it.
Yea Your gothic scene was probabaly the more intelligent artsy musically knowledgeble type....where as not even 10 years later we have emo kids who dress in black paint their nails and insist their missunderstood...while maintaining their still non-conformists..but yet look like every other "goth" kid now a days

I've loved this movie for so long. When I first watched it the Boogieman scared me and I couldn't watch any of the parts with him in it.
