Hiya gang, it's a quiet day for reporting BEHIND THE SCENES news for Wrestlemania but I saw 2 articles that give me an idea for a new topic. Thanks to Lance Storm, former WWE talent who talks a lot about the industry now at http://www.stormwrestling.com/031109.html but mainly to this article discussing odds of the Divas they might ask back - http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/MatMatters/2009/03/09/8676371.html

To recap, Vickie announced on RAW that there will be a 25 Divas Battle Royale. It will include all of the Divas currently on RAW, Smackdown and ECW. Yes a lot of them suck in ring and this is bad considering they're lovely on the eyes but I'm not here to complain on that. The intriguing part is that past Divas/Women Wrestlers will be asked to attend as well. Like Lance Storm notes I like the idea to go down memory lane, and might be more fun than the Gimmick Legends Battle Royale from Wrestlemania 17. Some might even still be able to hold their own.

OK count up whom can be in from the main roster (so not including Vickie, Stephanie McMahon and Lillian Garcia for this). You have the two champs (unknown if they simply earn the name Ms. Wrestlemania or it one or both of the titles are on the line as of yet) Melina & Maryse, Beth Phoenix, Candice Michelle, Jillian Hall, Kelly Kelly, Layla, MIckie James, Brie & Nikki Bella, Eve, Maria, Michelle McCool, Natalya, Alicia Fox and Katie Lee Burchill. This brings our total up to 16 Divas.

Also note that Rosa Mendes likely could get added as she has wrestled in FCW before and could premiere then in the match, and Gail Kim could debut there too. A side note is Gail debuted her first time in WWE in a Battle Royale for Jazz's Women's title and won it. This would bring the total up to 18 Divas. There's also 3 ladies in FCW with Angela, Jenny Cash and Wesley Holiday but I won't include them in the numbers for now. Tiffany, the gal who is Teddy Long's assistant on ECW, I'm not adding for now as I got no clue if she can even do anything in ring or if she'd be considered.

All info on the current roster is from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_World_Wrestling_Entertainment_employees

That leaves about 7-9 slots open for the past Divas, so discuss here who you hope to see come back. From the aforementioned article I posted their odds for the names below to come back, and I added some more at the end without odds. Do know as of now after this article was posted that Torrie Wilson, Sunny and Trish are now likely locks, with Wendi pending health. Also note Lance updated that Sable is also pregnant so she's likely out at least being in ring. Stacy I believe is also pregnant so she's unlikely now coming either to be in ring.

Trish Stratus
Probability: Lock
Since retiring from active WWE duty, Trish has not been one to shy away from one-off returns in and around the ring, including a tag match alongside John Cena last year against Beth Phoenix and Santino Marella. Stratus is the undeniable queen of the ring and would definitely be welcomed back by fans.

Lita
Probability: Lock
Like Trish, Lita has been a friend to WWE since her retirement and is much adored by the fans. It will definitely be hard to keep her away from the ring and fans would definitely notice her absence.

Molly Holly
Probability: Lock
Another Diva that fans would scratch their heads over if she wasn't on the list, Holly has been involved in one-off wrestling projects but like Trish and Lita is not bound for a permanent return. A one-time return, preferably as a heel, would be fun.

Mae Young
Probability: Lock (unfortunately)
I'll never understand why Vince keeps bringing Mae Young out for these appearances. As important as she has been in wrestling history, the risk is not worth the reward. if she's in the ring, she's winning, meaning yet another opportunity for a Diva to get a good push is wasted.

Victoria
Probability: Likely
There's no question in my mind that Victoria would come back for 'Mania in a heartbeat, but there is a question as to whether she would be invited back, so soon after retirement. Putting space between the appearances is likely to happen.

Luna Vachon
Probability: Likely
Vachon would be a lock under most circumstances, but there's always the unfortunate possibility that WWE will overlook her, despite her importance during the proverbial "Diva downtime", when she battled Sable. She'd have more of a chance if the show was taking place in Canada; but even in Houston, I suspect WWE will do the right thing.

Gail Kim
Probability: Likely
Because Gail bridges the past generation with the current crop of Divas (due to her return), it would make sense in one way to have Gail be in the match. On another level though, this kills her return, unless she's booked to win.

Torrie Wilson
Probability: Likely
Let's be honest here. While Torrie was never a ring queen, she was a major draw for WWE during her more than half-decade run in the fed. If she's in there for a short amount of time, her injuries would not be a factor.

Wendi Richter
Probability: Likely
Okay this one's out of left field, but the fierce rumour is that Richter, the victim of the original WWE Screwjob (copyright Titan Sports) has been able to make nicey nicey enough with Vince and Co. that she would make this appearance. Still, '80s WWF faithful, don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Jazz
Probability: Marginal
Jazz is pretty much the forgotten Diva these days, but she was as dominant in her era as Beth Phoenix is today. Given that she hasn't been heard from in a while, she'd be a decent addition to the lineup, but the question remains if she would accept.

Ivory
Probability: Marginal
This is another case of a women who'd likely do the match, but she wouldn't get the pop she richly deserves, unfortunately because many of today's wrestling fans don't know her. Most likely, she will not be in the match.

Rockin' Robin
Probability: Marginal
The other '80s queen of the ring certainly would fit in the ring here, but unlike Richter she doesn't have the backstory that would have kept her in the minds of many fans. WWE may look elsewhere, but don't be surprised if she does, in the end, appear at 'Mania.

Sable
Probability: Marginal
If Rena Mero was alone, it's an inevitability that she'd be in there. However, her relationship with Brock Lesnar may block this, since the UFC champ still has hard feelings towards WWE. If Sable does show, don't be surprised if The Next Big Thing makes an appearance as well.

Stacy Keibler
Probability: Not going to happen
As much as WWE fans would love to see the long-legged Diva back in a Federation ring, Stacy has distanced herself from pro wrestling pretty effectively. There would have to be serious money offered here, and with more emphasis than ever on her looks, Keibler's agents would not let her get in a ring.

Chyna
Probability: Not going to happen
Okay hear me out - let's not think of China Doll or Joanie Laurer or whichever persona she adopts this week. Instead, let's look at the most dominant Diva of her era, and think that maybe for one night, all hard feelings could be put aside and we could see Chyna and Beth Phoenix in the ring together for a passing of the torch. Unfortunately, this isn't going to happen, but it would be really cool if it did.

Some other names to consider from with varying degrees of probability: Alundra Blaze, Debra (though she recently said she's not coming to do Booker T's charity event the same weekend in Houston), Dawn Marie, Terri Runnels, Francine, Leilani Kai, the Jumping Bomb Angels, Velvet McIntyre, Tori (the one that was with X-Pac), Bull Nakano, Miss Kitty/The Kat, Hervina (pray not as this was Harvey Whippleman dressed as a woman, and he's currently still working for WWE backstage), Joy Giovanni, Amy Weber, Ashley Massero, Lena Yada, Nidia, Krystal Marshall (again very unlikely as she was Bobby Lashley's gal and they both got released at the time over the Michael Hayes incident), Lauren Jones, Rochelle Loewen, Brooke Adams, Jessie Ward, Shaniqua, Taylor Matheny, and Jackie Gayda. PHEW! There are also TONS of past Diva Search contestants but I doubt they'd be considered, ditto on the tons more of Nitro Girls from way back, or gals that only showed on the old ECW.

I didn't include anyone on TNA's roster at the moment of course. But it's still a fairly large list, so come in to choose your choices; I did a poll with 5 of the names but feel free to also include in replies your choices!

My personal choices if I had 9 would be Sunny, Trish, Lita, Molly Holly, Gail Kim, Jazz, Victoria, Dawn Marie, and Alundra Blaze.

Have fun with it!

I don't really care who is in it because I'll probably go toilet during this. Unless Santino can find a way into it, it will just be like any other diva's match. Boring and nothing will come from it

or

if they decide the winner wins both women title belts so the diva's belt can be thrown away.
