woot! Yeah, classes is the fastest way. Tho' you can self-teach yourself hiragana, katakan, and the 1945 basic joyo kanji, it's difficult to understand sentence patterning and the uses of, 'he', 'no', 'ha/wa', 'ni', 'wo/o', 'kara', etc. by yourself.

Hehe, tho' studying this language is actually pretty adicting for me, but i still only know 50 kanji, my fried knows 155, LOL!!!

And please refer to the Japanese language as Nihonggo. That's what my teacher always says. ahaha.

You CAN do it on your own, it just takes quite a few years of practice. 99.99% of western fans never actually pull it off on their own, but it can be done if you have the discipline. Really, it's just best to learn it in school. Fansubs are fast enough now it really isn't an issue anymore. It's just gaming it comes in handy for anymore to be honest (at least on the fanboy side of the fence).

woot, you have high hopes. The most i'll do with this skill is learn more about Japanese architechture and engineering so i may well do my job in the future. They like things clean, small, and really high-tech after all.

Well, I was in japan for 3 months straight on business (thanks to a delightful little north korean despot) so that's not from a random vacation perspective. I gave up trying to emulate them and just indulged in the whole "baka gaijin" thing.

you're in your mid twenties from what i recall... just where is all the money coming from might i ask? I'm not saying you won't make that much, I'm just curious.

Yeah the course says Japanese the language is Nihon go, and used in a sentence is Nihon go ga

As in
"Anata wa Nihon go ga wakarimasu ka?" Do you understand Japanese?

To which, with my current level of knowledge in the language, I would reply
"Watash wa sukochi wakarimasu, demo mada yoku ja arimasen" I understand Japanese a little, but not very well yet."

Let me know if I am spelling this correctly, I want to learn and I have to be told when I am wrong.

I may learn the Hirigana and Katakana but not the Kanji. I will not be visiting Japan ever, and even so, I read alot that most Japanese people, in Japan, know Romajii for the sake of outsiders. They may not use it on their own but they know it enough to occasionally help someone out.

I basically want to have the knowledge of a child LOL

Probably Civil engineering, like my granddad. Tho' it pays little, haha. The Japanese have their way with roads and bridges, so the fastest way to learn is to ask them. If that doesn't work then i'l become a diplomat. lol

Yah, you should be. But you have to be into it to learn it. It's one of those things.
